Wow. This is unbelievable news. I didn't imagine ever seeing less limited research under Bush.

Here's a question regarding over-riding the veto. Do both houses of Congress have to over ride or just the senate?

I think the houes might be a tougher cell.

Comments?

good!
i hate to be so negative...i heard he may be running in 08...thoughts?

edit: sorry to not answer your question.
i think both houses need to veto.

edit 2: info

Presidential run concession?

Edit: Either way, I applaud the endorsement of this very powerful Senator.

Frist was for stem cell research a few years ago, but then took the holy-roller position once GWB came about.

He does tend to roll over a bit. Rolled over for Bush, rolled over for Harry Reid. Gonna need some spine if he wants to be pres.

HAHAHAHAHA! Owned!

who

George W. Bush obiviously, and the rest of fundies...

Yeah, all those on the Right agree on everything. God forbid some Rep somewhere disagree with another... such OWNAGE!!!

It's the SENATE MAJORITY LEADER it's a lot more than just plain ownage...

Actually this is a fairly significant blow to GWB and the fundies...It's nice to see the Republicans are not united behind this questionable mindset. cwjerome, he didn't claim anything about the "Right" or a ownage of the Republicans.

Nice spin 😛

Just to make everything clear, Bill First isn't on my friendly list... He's a corrupt bastage and was a huge backer of letting Terri Schavio live...

I wonder what changed his mind, I guess we will find out eventually...

Well if you consider a disagreement "ownage" I guess it is....

I don't see it that way. I do hope Bush loses this battle though.

I'm just glad this is happening. Its been very unfortunate for all those poor crippled people to see their only hope being destroyed by pure politics and the church. I hope this backing will actually get something done.

So how do you see if it's not a "disagreement"?

Lemme clarify... I'm saying as disagreement doesn't make "OWNAGE!!"

I see this as a disagreement, and a good one... not like someone just got worked over though.

So, if you got a Republican Senate Majority Leader doing the exact opposite of what the Republican Presidents wants him to do thats not ownage?

So, what would you consider ownage?

You need a 2/3 majority in both to override...almost impossible.

Bush will still win the battle...

I don't get this stem cell research ban. It's not like they are eating partial-birth fetuses to get the stem cells. There is just too much to be gained from this research

That's when Dobson implanted his hand up Frist's arse.
