Biking in the winter

I was planning on getting a roof rack and a mountain bike, but it's starting to get cold here in NY. I really wanted to start biking to get back in shape. Sitting in a support center all day doesn't help my gut much.

Does anyone here bike in the winter? Am I crazy?

I love riding in the winter.. I even ride the trails in the snow. It's hard, it's cold, it's dangerous, but it's FUN..... (as long as you're not TOO cold)

you're not crazy at all 😀

When I was younger I would bike in the winter all the time. Streets, logging roads anywhere. It was fun, just make sure u get some really warm gloves and some good tread.

defiantely need a mtn bike with some good tires to do snow riding but it is fun as all get out...just wear a decent wind breaker and something to cover up the mouth/nose and some good goggles and you be fine 😉

Riding in the snow can be fun. When I lived in Sweden, a bike was my only mode of transportation. I would ride in rain, snow, you name it. Invest in some water proof pants (gore-tex).

I rode to matrix revolutions last wednesday and there was an inch of snow on the ground when my friends and I got out. Had a blast riding back in it 😀

Sounds good to me... I guess I'll try it. Good time to get the rack too since it's on sale during off season. Thanks for the tips!
