Bikes, which one is the fastest...

I just got my Honda CBR 1100XX Turbo....

Is this the fastest street bike out there? I haven't really broken it in, i havent driven it faster than 180MPH yet...

So which is the fastest bike, is this it?

Patrick

Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa.

132+ HP/liter - or about 2HP per CC. :`

Four cylinders, 16 valves, double overhead camshafts, fuel injection and ram-air intake.

Long wheelbase for stability, cross-drilled disc brakes to stop and a six-speed transmission.

206 MPH

Oh yeah, $11,000 . . . 😉

Here ya go, Patrick . . .

The Suzuki Hayabusa Gsx1300R is reported to reach speeds of 206 mph, making it the fastest production bike in the world. The motorcycle is a 1298 cc DOHC with four valves per cylinder, a narrow 14 degree angle, and electronic fuel injection with ram air. The result is a powerful bike with 173 bhp at 9,800 rpm but an overall weight of 474 lb. "Hayabusa" is Japanese for perejrine falcon. Its also in the world record book for the fastest production bike.

I saw a pic somewhere on the 'net where I guy pulled 230 on a GSX at the Salt Flats, that's why I say it's the fastest. It wasn't stock, but I don't think it had a turbo . . .

Mmmmm, nice, those competition GSX's are great, i used to have one, it could only manage 200MPH though, so i guess that it was not the same bike that you read about...

Oh, BTW, the 1100XX will do 240 with full turbo charge, or so i was told by someone by a PM a couple of minutes ago...

You can bet your hairy butt that i am going to ride that bike like hell on wheels, 240 would be lots of fun...

I once crashed a bike going 140+, straigh into the woods, i got a little bruise on my right knee... it didn't scare me one little bit... I guess i am just too stupid to be afraid...

I am no expert but this is tough to believe. The bike would have to have impractically high gearing to achieve this even with the enormous power a CBR1100XX can generate with a turbo. The stock bike tops out around 180 - can anyone link to a site that says 240 MPH is possible, with some kind of proof?

Xerox Man - that would be cubic inches, not cubic centimeters... engine has to be really small to put out that kind of specific output.

The rest of the world goes by Cubic Centimeters not Cubic Inches (like they do in teh US).

Anything over 200 MPH is freaking FAST. The fastest I have gone in my bike is 70 and at that speed the wind is just too much.. it makes you feel uncomfortable.. I would guess with a full fairing it would be much better at high speeds.

But still 240MPh.. damn!!!

I'll try to, when i have broken it in...

The stock bike tops out around 210 if you have the european version, mine was bought in sweden, i was born in sweden and i visit the country frequently (for obvious reasons, PCRES)...

Add a turbo to that and you will have no problems going 240... And yes, that is a stock bike in Sweden...

<< The Y2K superbike is the fastest bike.. >>

Is that a street bike?

I will tune this sucker and probably ride it to fast in one curve, when i stop posting you will know why...;-)

Oh, man, i feel the need....

Patrick

Whoa Patrick nice score ,you say the turbo is stock ??? I'm sure theres some law against selling that version in the U.S. 😉 Now if you're truly insane, which I believe you are,try sticking a nitrous bottle on it 🙂

<< I haven't really broken it in, i havent driven it faster than 180MPH yet... >>

really? where exactly are you hitting 180?

<< I once crashed a bike going 140+, straigh into the woods, i got a little bruise on my right knee... it didn't scare me one little bit... I guess i am just too stupid to be afraid... >>

or too full of it

It is not sold in US at all, i believe, but as i bought it in sweden that makes it OK... (i really don't want to expelain the whole deal, it is the same as for my car that was not sold in US either)

Hehe, someone just challenged me to a drag bike race, so i might try it, i know that i will loose, the bike wasn't made for that, but it will be fun... 🙂

Actually on a road in sweden streching from Halmstad to Mellbystrand, any swede will verify that that road is well known for it's long curves and straights...

<< or too full of it >>

Yup, and i will fight for your right to think so, but you are wrong in this case...

I don't doubt that.... but you're gonna kill yourself (as you suggest) if you are indeed hitting those speeds on the 'streets'.

well, as a fellow rider, I will call you on it. I still think you're full of it.

another vote for Suzuki Hayabusa..in terms of flat out fastest speed you can reach..go for this bike.

The last I heard it was the Hayabusa, but haven't kept up with the latest.
BTW I thought aerodynamics have a major impact on top speed of a motorbike, something like near 190mph is like hitting a brick wall so how'd the new bikes hit over 200? It's an interesting subject, could you explain?
