BIGPNS....BYTETH1S.....beloved patriot JR.......SS4EVER....

I saw a custom plate with "POOH" on it. It took me a while to realize they were referring to the disney character.

People who complain about these things are the most uptight jackasses around.

"WAHHH!!! I don't liek your license plate! I'm telling the DMV on you!"

Yeah, good point. That's the problem with people being too easily offended, sometimes with no real reason.

I know the CA DMV only allows "69" in custom plates for 1969 model year cars. Somewhat related...

...yet my non-custom plate has 69 in it...

Yeah the SS4EVER one is stupid, as I sure didn't know it was an "unmistakable reference to the SS division of the Nazi Army."

A while back, a men's magazine ran an anecdote about a man in California(?) who simply wanted his surname as a vanity plate. He was denied. Mr. Schmuck learned from the DMV that "schmuck" was Yiddish slang for penis, and hence was considered inappropriate for a license plate.

The article wittily opined that Mr. Schmuck probably wouldn't fare any better if he applied for a vanity plate using his first name, which happened to be Peter.

I have no problem with banning the ones quoted, though I do think the SS one is probably questionable. Does anyone actually think the beloved patriot one should be allowed??
