Actually, I was surprised to see Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) win again for Governor, since he's had so much criticism. It was by no small margine, either. I thought the nation was tired of republicans, but apparently there are still warm places, where they are still adored.

If I lived in California, I'd vote for him over his democratic opponent.
He's not your typical republican with neoconservative extremist views.

basically he's a moderate, and famous, and a californian..and VERY obviously not got a stick up his ass over sex and other things, his lecherous past actually is an advantage in ways since it makes it clear he's no republican puritan. and of course his wife is a kennedy and his campaign staff are from that bunch too. a very unusual republican so he gets a lot of votes from democrats here.

Biggest surprise here - Sara Palin winning by 12 points. The whole thing was looking like a 2-3 point contest. More proof that polls suck. Same thing happened when Murkowski won last time.

But the good news is... Alaska has the hawtest governor in the US. :D

You need your sight and your head examined. Even my bad eyes aren't seeing that as "hawt".

I will admit, however, that she's much easier on the eyes than Hilary.

i guess its a naughty school librarian or teacher thing. u know u woulda banged her back in high school;)

She is hot in my book.

Anyways, I didn't think Dems would take the Senate, it looks like that is all more likely now.

I cant smoke in bars in Ohio anymore.

Im a little disapointed that prop 87 failed in cali. I guess when the oil industry dumps 100 million into a campaign of lies its hard for a grass roots proposition to pass.

So far I would say I am most surprised by how much Chafee lost by. 8% points is a big deal, especially since the late polls had them much closer.

So far every other Senate seat has come down right where we expected it too.

You expected to lose? Yeah right

Christopher Shays is alive in CT...
Deborah Pryce is alive in OH for some remarkable reason...

The Georgia Democrats survived redistricting!!!
