Big zoom digital camera

Yesterday at a big electronic retailer, two other persons and I were looking at the new Canon s2 and Sony H1 12X zoom digital camera. This is coming a popular horse for family purpose. Not long ago Panasonic lumix (thanks to Leica lens) had a lonely displaybut now it begins to show some more stiff competition there. However, there is no acknowledgement of these camera at steves-digicams or dpreview. Why not anandtech comes out with a super comparative test between the lumixz5, minolta s2, sony H1, and Canon S2. You would have a lot of hit from the web guys.Lots of people would be interested to this kind of results.

S2 IS just came out, so I doubt that AT has been able to get their hands on one.

Even though I'm pretty much set on a DSLR (ordering Digital Rebel XT this week), I'd like to see the S2 IS, which could be a good camera for my parents.

Anandtech is a great forum for many things - but not so great for reviewing digital cameras. For the best in that area go here and check out the Canon S2 IS:

I just bought my Panasonic FZ20 about a month ago. It's an amazing camera, check out the corresponding reviews on DPReview, Steve's Digicams, etc... the regular sites. The button layout is one of the best I've used so far, everything is so easily accessible. At the time, I was considering equivalents such as the Olympus C770, Fujifilm S5100, and a few others from Minolta and Canon. Definitely happy with my purchase, also got a spare battery off Ebay for only $15 CAN, instead of the $100 that Henry's wants 😛.
