Big what if question.

I know M$ has said that DX 10 is only going to be released on Vista. But is it possible that once the software is released on Vista that it could be modified to work on XP?

I know this is a big what if question and probaly has been asked elsewhere, but if this is possible then it would really negate the drawcard of upgrading to Vista and all its intrusive features.

DX is not just your average program that can be cracked to run in a different OS, so no.

Nope. DX10 requires a totally different driver model. Everything is set in a different place.

I wouldn't worry since developers will include fall-back mode. (If they want to sell the game) Just like many games today have options for rendering modes today.
