Big Trouble for PS2 Launch.

I was talking to my cousin (an asst. manager at EB) about getting a PS2 and he told me some shocking news. Apperently Sony was supposes to release 1,000,000 units of the PS2 for all of North America (Canada, US & Mexico) on the launch date of Oct. 26th. He was told by his Sony rep that they will only be releasing 500,000 units on launch. He has been calling all of his deposit customers to tell them that they may not be able to get thier PS2. Needless to say I feel sorry for my cousin (because he's getting sh!t from the customers) & PS2 pre-order owners (who expect a machine by placing a deposit)

So basically if you don't have a deposit on a machine (from whoever) then you probably will not get a machine until after Christmas

Yeah, old news here. But your right, this could propell the DC sells through the holiday season.

I am hesitant to get a PS2, I'm thinking of holding out till XBox or at least until PS2 gets online.

Single player can only keep me coming back so much. Online is where it's at for me!

I love my Dreamcast and think people are fools for waiting for the PS2. The games and system is more expensive, by a lot. DVD Player? Who cares. And the graphics are barely a noticible difference.
DC has tons of games with more to come, PS2 has only a small launch lineup plus the fact that it will be hard to find ...
