Big problem with title company for my house

I bought this house over a year ago. Up until this point, i have no clue about title/deed thing.

anyway, i never received it so i went and call the titling compnay today.

they said that they couldn't find it and asked for my number so that they can call back.


WHAT THE FUk?


I'm worried as hell now. Can someone help me?

what if they don't have my title? any legal actions can i do?

i'm so pissed right now.

no it usually take 3 months before you get your title...i don't know why. but that's what everyone told me.

was this a cash deal? I thought house is like a car, if you have a mortgage, the bank holds the title, right?? if not, damn, I need to call someone, I dont think I have the title either!?

I'm certain the OP purchased title insurance when he bought his house. That's what he's complaining about. He has not yet received his final title certification.

No, it's not like a car. The homeowner(s) hold vesting on the title. The bank has a lien placed against that title through their recorded security instrument aka mortgage (or trust deed, depending on state).

oh sh*t, I thought my bank has the title/deed, anyway I think I did get a big package of documents from the title insurance company, but I thought it was just explaining what they do and cover....I need to dig those out.

Actual title is recorded at your county recorder's office. Don't sweat it.

I just bought a house, and thats about what it took. 3 months. Call your lender.
