BIG PROBLEM with brand new Samsung 215TW

After much lengthy debate, I just bought my first LCD screen, the Samsung 215TW.

I am using the DVI input, from my XFX 7900GT.. everything was fine for 5 hours, and then all of a sudden it just clicked and changed.

I noticed a tiny colour shift straight away, the bright whites were now tinted very light blue..
And my entire wallpaper was covered in strange artifacts..

Below is the picture of what it looks like, compared to what it looked like before.

I am new to LCD's and have no idea what this problem is.

Could it be a cable problem? graphics card interference? graphics card overheating?

Any help would be much appreciated,

Regards,
Mark

Have you tried adjusting your monitor since this happened? It could be a lot of things from monitor or vid driver settings to defective hardware. Try plugging your old monitor back in and see if the problem is still there, it might be your video card.

Artifacts make it sound like the video card. If those artifacts don't stay pretty much in the same place anyways.

The Color shift could be the monitor but you can mod the color via the control panel for the monitor, but could also be the video card.

The graphics card is working fine, not overclocked.

I just tried this same lcd screen on 2 other computers, testing both VGA and DVI graphics card outputs, and they are the same results.

THis seems to only happen on very dark colours.

Is there anyway to fix this? adjust it perhaps?

The panel is unusable otherwise.

I'm on my 3rd 215TW.

The first one had a dead pixal so I took it back. The second one was fine and then out of nowhere I got this thin blue line streight down the middle. It wouldn't go away. So I took it back. Now on my third one. Had about 20 0r 30 stuck pixals when I got it home though. After massaging them out it works perfect. Seems to be fine but I'm a little worried if it happens now I'd have to send it back the factory instead.

Other than that I LOVE this monitor. Brand new hardware or models always goes through some problems. And LCD tech is still a little hoaky if you ask me. Still needs some things ironed out.

Holy crap!! How long did it take for the blue line to appear?
I just got one myself, it works fine but I hope not to have problems like that....

Yeah that's interesting.... when I picked mine up, the display model had 2 or 3 of those lines. Mine is perfect, hope it stays that way!

Funny, I just went to Frys to look at monitors, and when I looked at the 215TW it had a blue line running all the way down on the left side, about a third of the way from the edge...

Well now i am pretty reluctant about getting this monitor from the Office Depot deal. Initial website reviews praised this as one of the best monitors in its category, but buyers from both Newegg and Amazong seem to have the same vertical line problems.

Im not sure what Office Depot's policy is on returning monitors, but this seems like a huge problem.

Holy crap, your monitor has cancer! WTH are those red specks on the black background?
I'm with harle on this one. This monitor was very well reviewed when it came out....but a lot of people seem to be having problems with it.

Sucks, eh? One of the best monitors with some of the worst Quality Control/Build Quality...

did you try to use the auto adjust feature?

autoadjust is only for adjusting analog signal. he's using DVI.

Maybe he should try plugging in VGA to see what happens?
