I just switched to a p4 from an amd setup. I reformatted windows and installed all of my drivers but when I installed the catalyst drivers I had artifacts all over my screen after computer rebooted. I installed the catalyst 3.9 drivers with it having that problem so i deleted them and reinstalled with some Omega 3.7 drivers, and it did the same thing. I have updated the bios to the newest bios. I have a lan in 2 days and need to get this thing up. Here is my setup.
------------
P4 2.6C
ASUS P4P800
Corsair 512 xms 3200
Sapphire Ati 9500 np

Was the video card working before you went to the P4 setup? Im thinking you damaged it in the move some how.

it was working fine before. put it in a friends computer to put new bios in and with the drivers it was fine

check the system temp in your machine.., i have a powercolor 9500np, also using omega drivers, and have noticed that when the system temp in the box gets to about 55-60 degrees (amd) then i also see artifacts.., have installed several fans which has minimized the problem severely......, you can download a program to check the cpu and system temp in windows(open the program, then start up a game, play for a while then quit it and check the temp{temp obviously higher with 3d applications than just in windows} in windows..., just a thought..,

I would also check the card is working fine in another PC,you never know when they decide to go faulty.

Some BIOS tweaks like disable fastwrites(disable it in ATI smartgart tab as well) & all video shadowing, disable video ram cacheable, disable system bios cacheable. If your Bios allows AGP voltage adjustment ,try bumping it up a touch, btw what PSU do you`ve?

Cooling is worth looking into just like justagamer said, try running with case open with desk fan or maybe some case fans if you have the case closed see if this helps.

Driver Cleaner will be handy for when you uninstall and reinstall new drivers.

are you sure you did not download the softmodded drivers?
The omega drivers also has some softmodding ability built into the drivers.

Which bios did your flash your card with?

I have tried several different bios's. Im using the "kit" from rage3d. I have tried several different bios's from them.

I would make sure you have a bios specifically for the 9500np. A 9700np or 9500 pro bios will cause you the kind of greif you are having now. If you are using Rage3d tweak to overclock your bios with one of the hacked/unlocked 9500np bios, what clock speeds do you show?

Should be 275core 270mem for a stock 9500np.
