I used Driver Cleaner Pro last night to wipe out some NVidia drivers for installtion of new ones. I removed chipset, display and cab files. I had disconnected my internet connection as well. When I tried to reboot I got an error message saying I am missing this:

System32\drivers\nvcchflt.sys

I have a DFI NF3 250 gb Ultra board..

Can anyone give me some insight? I also tried to use my disc to "repair" but I have NO IDEA what to do once I get there..so many choices!

I am trying to NOT have to reinstall... I'll lost to much info. I tried to "repair" using the windows disk, it ran through the repair just fine, but didn't fix the issue...
What I did leanr is that that file also was about this:

NVIDIA disk cache filler driver

Anyone else have any ideas on how to get this file fixed so I can boot into windows?

Try booting up in SAFE Mode
and then reinstalling the NVIDIA
Drivers ... Safe mode uses the
old default VGA Mode

Hi Bruce..
I tried safe mode, still gives me the same error...This is a tough one judging by the "silence" here :)

I can only suggest a couple of ideas:

1): Reboot into Windows Safe Mode, then do a repair install to reinstall the
VGA motherboard chipset & display drivers ... if you don't have them or know
which one to get, use Everest Home Edition to ID the motherboard make & model,
then get the drivers from the motherboard web site

2): Does Driver Cleaner Pro have a Restore or Undo feature ? .. If so try it in safe mode

3): You may to post here on this forum for Driver Cleaner Pro

Good luck

Wayne, this happened to me once also. I was unable to fix it so I had to reinstall windows, too. Luckily I had all my stuff archived properly so I didn't fret over losing data.

As a result of this process, I reverted to an older version of Driver Cleaner, it doesn't cause this problem for me. I think 3.3 is the one I'm sticking with for a long while.
