I Know that it has a Pentium 4 cpu 3.2ghz 1.00gb of ram. I found this in "My Computer" and "view sytem information"

Is there a program that I could run to scan for what my systems has. I just don't want to open it unless i have to.

I'm looking to upgrade to a bigger HD. I currently have 160GB and I'm looking to purchase 2 of these:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822148064

but i have no idea if this would be compatible in my computer or if i have enough slots available for both of them. And again please excuse my noobishizm. O, and i'm sorry if this is not the right forum, i figured off topic would be the safest place to post this

Well, I think the only way to really make sure it will work is to open the case and physically check what the situation is.

BTW, this should probably be in General Hardware.

Heck of a place for a first post! but welcome.

CPU-Z for starters. Secondly crack that case open and figure out if your HDD is SATA or PATA...then it's a matter of buying the correct hard drive with an appropriate connector and plug and play for the most part.

just download everest home edition from majorgeeks. Its no longer supported by Everest but it still does its job. It will tell you everything you need to know about your system.

Could be shorthand for what Annie (Goldie Hawn -> Overboard) was trying to say after that incident with the chainsaw.

The XPS Gen 5 has 3 hdd bays, so if you only have one, you could put 2 more in. You may be able to put 1 in an open 5.25" bay or an externally accessible 3.5" bay. You only have 4 SATA ports on the board though, so any more drives will need to connect to a controller card or if you only have 1 CD drive, then you can connect a drive to the IDE channel.
