Big long pause while starting computer

I just changed the following components in my system:
-diff video card
-diff optical drives
-diff hard drive (and a fresh install of windows xp)

The components all worked fine in a different system previously.

Now, whenever I'm starting windows, the loading bar moves a few times and then stops for like 30 seconds before continuing. Anyone know what could possibly be the reason?

System is:
-Asus A7N8X-E
-Athlon XP 3200
-Radeon 8500
-Western Digital SE 80GB
-CD-Rom drive
-CD-RW drive
-300W PSU

Maybe change your boot.ini so you're not using the GUI (the /noguiboot switch) and then watch the load list to see where it hangs exactly.
