Re: Gamespot and their DOAX review in particluar - I can understand some people not getting down with the concept of the game or enjoyinh it, but that SOB flat out LIED when he said "...More pronouced head tracking animation--having the girls' heads and eyes follow the ball as it moves around the court--would have added some more visual flair to the game and also would have helped out with the game's slow-moving camera." Maybe this dumfuq requires a "Big Heads" code to make details visible to his meager eyes, cuz anyone who's actually played the game, not wishing he was playing Kingdom Hearts, knows how inaccurate this is. Gamespot is suck!

On to the deals...

Micro Center has some 2-Pack deals with lousy games on sale for $28.99 until 2/9/03. Choose from:

* Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver & NASCAR Heat 2002
* 4x4 Evo & Test Drive Off Road: Wide Open
* Knockout Kings & Transworld Surf

Try not to get too excited over these, mmmkay?

I also spotted Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance at Curcuit City for $34.99. I dunno if this is across the board or what. They're really lousy about keeping the prices on the shelved product up-to-date.

fry's electronics has the sega bundle + naki (?) racing wheel+controller for 235 - 35 rebate = 199.

is the wheel/controller any good? oh and gt2k2 is the main reason im buying one.. ok and maybe its a present for my nephews b-day

There's a kbtoys.com coupon floating around that works for video game purchases! $10 gift card for a $50+ order

check around, can't give it out here 🙁

(edited to specify the store)

Sorry, didn't sift through the whole thread to see if this was posted, but my local Sam's Club had several titles marked down to $24.48:
MechAssault, Medal of Honor, Unreal Championship, Blinx, and a couple others.

well, today i went to BB and managed to PM the xbox i purchased on 1/13 to both the 'Free NFLFever2002 if you purchase xbox' (last weeks ad... expired today) AND the 'get free controller w/ purchase of xbox' deal they are running in this weeks ad. They were out of Fever2002, so they gave me a raincheck, but that works 🙂

i bought the 2 year replacement plan on the controller for $5. I thought i was helping out the cashier since she was being very nice to me, but turns out they get ZERO commission for selling those god awful replacement plans. oh well, i figure that since it is one of those crappy 3rd party controllers, it'll break within the next 2 years and they will have to give me a new one... not bad for a 3rd controller for when friends come over 😉

i also picked up an xbox live kit, but atm i don't have any games that are live enabled. most of the stores in my area have been out of live for a while, so i figured id pick one up and hang onto it til i buy a live enabled game.

From what a employee was telling me, they get no commission, but the managers get bonuses based on the amount of plans that are sold, so they push the employees pretty hard to sell them.

CompUSA has the Linksys WET11 that is recommended for Xbox wireless connectivity for $99.99 after $30 instant rebate.

If you guys are lookin for a different type of FUN addictive game...try Sega Soccer Slam! I'm sure there are some online deals. There are multiple buy it nows on eBay goin for $24.99 +$4 shipping for a sealed copy. I think I may pick it up.

Is this at all Sam's Club... I didn't see these games at the Arcadia, CA location. What location was this at?

I've heard good things about that game. I don't have a party game yet (other then Fuzion Frenzy) so I think this will work quite nicely.

Picked it up off Ebay for $18.99 + $6 shipping 🙂

Or for an arcade soccer game with a sim slant, try RedCard Soccer by Midway. I say this not because my friend worked on it...but it plays a lot more like a sim but has arcade touches. They took a lot of the special shots from the movie Shaolin Soccer, and it has this cool matrix cam every time you pull off one of these shots. It's a fun party game, and mroe for soccer enthusiasts than the kiddie Sega Socer Slam.

Is redcard funner to play (more arcade likeish) than FIFA2003. I love sega soccer slam and FIFA 2003 is ok but I like Virtual Soccer 2 on dreamcast better than FIFA2003 on xbox as far as gameplay and camera movement is concerned.

Oh hell...the damn list corrupted again. :frown:
Don't post on this thread any more.

Gonna have the mods lock it and start a new one.

LUCKILY...I had copied all the text before posting the last change.
So I don't have to recreate this monster from scratch again.

BTW: When the new thread comes up...let me reserve the first few posts for other info and overflow. Thanks!
