I don't have the problem with freezing in franchise mode, though the game has frozen up on me before. This was during a game in normal exhibition mode. The freezing is limited to a certain # of discs, as far I have heard.

Can't really complain about the roster thing. Every sports game's rosters are dated at release. As for the Yao omission, you can blame Yao for that one, or the Chinese goverment.

Yao's omission woulda been fine -- I was going to wait for NBA2k4. Unfortunately, doesn't seem like Sega will be releasing that for Gamecube anymore.

This is a big YMMV as all Target deals are but I just saw the following at my local Target:
NCAA Football 2003 - $4.98
FIFA Soccer 2003 - $7.48
Lost Kingdoms - $7.48
All Star Baseball 2003 - $9.98

For those of you who dont know Target clearance deals vary from store to store so nothing is guaranteed even if they have it in stock at your local store.

These prices are ridiculously low. What state/region are you in? Thanks.

Was just at Target in Clovis, CA and saw the following... As stated, YMMV, as Target clearances vary from store to store...

All of these are EA Sports titles:
NCAA Football 2003 - $9.98
NHL 2003 - $14.98
Nascar Thunder 2003 - $9.98

"BTW, do you have Panzer Dragoon Orta?" Not yet actually, just PD, Zwei, and now Azel 🙂. A note on those expensive N64 and SNES games of ages past, they didn't overprice them just because they could, they priced them so high because Carts just cost more to produce, it was most apparent on N64 since they were competing against the cheap CDRoms of the PSX, but SNES had Zelda: LTTP for nearly $100 I think. The bigger the game is, the larger the cart has to be, and the more it costs to produce. Here's to infinitely superior DVD! Also about Component Cables: Most people don't think-for game consoles-that component is worth it, unless you have a digital TV where you can utilize prog scan. Analog Component usually doesn't hold a big advantage over S-Video with video game systems.

I didn't mean to be rude by not replying, I just got real busy.

Yeah, I keep bidding on PD Zwei. Azel and Saga, but I never win those auctions. I should just go ahead and raise my bid and get it over with. I bid $150 for PD saga and outbid (which is normal these days since PD Orta's release the price for Saga settle around $180-190). I wish I just bought it two years ago when it was settling around $100. Back then I couldn't imagine spending so much money on a game, and now I feel like an idiot for not buying it. Maybe after the PD Orta fever dies down a bit, I'll be able to get my hands on one for $130-$150 - I hope.

Tell me about it :disgust:. I got ripped myself, got a copy for $120, but silly me, didn't notice it was missing the manual, plus it doesn't work 😱.

I was looking over the auction history for PDS today, and it seems it hasn't been going overly high lately, at least a few went for just over $100 in the last couple weeks, and they were supposedly complete and in decent working order.

I feel like polishing mine up some more (Hopefully that will work eventually), and just sticking it on half.com.

This was in southeast Michigan (Westland store), they were all maked down by 75% with a red clearance tag on them. I'm assuming they're just trying to get rid of them to make room for the 2004 games.

Try 3M plastic cleaner followed 3M plastic polish. The stuff works wonders and maybe you can get it to work. I would first try a random scratched disc to get a feel for how the stuff works. You can usually find the stuff at NAPA auto parts stores or internet auto part stores. The thing with Ebay that can be really scary is that it seems so organized and there are all these anti fraud policies that we expect to not get ripped there, but when bad things happen you can't actually enforce a single thing. I keep forgetting how risky buying on Ebay can be, but based on your experience I will definitely do escrow if I win a copy of PDS.

You and I are VERY close to each other man. I'm Joy and Farmington. Lets keep an eye out for each other via PM in the future!

I picked up XGIII Extreme G Racing for $9.90 + tax at Fry's today. It looked like an advertised sale as they had a little sign next to it.

Thanks for the info qball. My local Target sucks with deals. They never ever have any red tag items, even though sometimes they will scan at Clearance prices. It seems to me that Target's clearance prices are restricted to a certain region even within a state.

Thanks for the heads up. As my buddy put it, this game is a great way to last us until F-Zero comes crashing to the scene. XG3 has a two player cooperative mode and supports up to 4 players. What more could you ask for in a game?

FINAL UPDATE ON BUYRITE

Alright, my suspicions have been confirmed. I finally received the rest of my order today, and guess what, the damn game is USED! It has fingerprints and scratches all over the back of the disc, and the game box is missing the manual, etc. and is very visibly used. Looks like a game you rent from Blockbuster.

Does anyone have experience with dealing with this sort of thing? The first half of the order was fine (though still a month late) but this second half just won't do. I paid for a brand new copy and as you can see on their web site ([l]http://www.buyritegames.com[/l]), there is no mention of it being used. Seems like they randomly send out new and used copies. The worst thing is the two month wait for an unsatisfactory product.

I'm considering filing a claim with BBB and with Amex. I really wish I could put this company out of business somehow. Nobody with such practices deserves to stay in business.

Hello everyone. I've been a fan of this post for awhile, but I couldn't figure out the initial random password for the forums.

Anyways... I picked up two copies of Extreme G-3 yesterday from Fry's for $9.90. One for my buddy, Danny818. They also had the following games for $4.90:

NHL Hitz 2002
All-Star Baseball 2002
NFL QB Club 2002

I highly recommend picking up nhl hitz for that price. They also had Turok Evolution for $14.90 and numerous other games for $19.90 on sale.

Ha, this is funny. I thought it looked like something from Blockbuster, but apparently it really is! There's a sticker on it from Blockbuster. Grr...

Sorry to hear about that Quixotic; you should definitely report their fraudulent practices. I think AMEX will be able to help you out. Good luck, man.

I too am sorry to hear about your ordeal Quixotic. I will remember to never post any Buyrite deals in the Big List for fear of someone else getting ripped off.

I've been reading this forum for weeks but just signed up to respond to the question on wiredlounge. I ordered NHL 2003 and Smuggler's Run from there yesterday, and asked for it to be shipped to my work address instead of my home/billing address. They called to confirm, instead of just blindly sending the package off unsecure. For someone who loves it when a cashier checks my signature, this was a welcome relief. And they told me I'll get the games on Monday. Shipping prices seem a little high, but considering the great prices they have on the games, it's worth it.

Also, does anyone know if there is a similar forum for GBA deals?

Keep up the great work!

I have a feeling they are pulling my leg...
I just did it last night and this morning I got a message from them saying it's been shipped with tracking number and stuff, that pretty fast. 🙂

Sounds good enough to me. Anything that ships right away has got to be better than old blockbuster rentals being shipped 2 months later 🙂
