BIG KMART Closing Sale: San Jose, California

50%-70% OFF Everything left in the store right now! There's quite a bit left! I think she said they would close for good on 1/14.
It's the Fruitdale store, 1 block South of 280 at the Meridian Exit. Just turn right on Fruitdale and you'll see it right down there on the left. I have lived in SJ area my whole life and I have never seen that store before, guess that's why it's closing...BAD LOCATION.

I got a big box of stuff for $50. Tilex for 50 cents, bags of Rice Krispy Treats for $1, NICE wool blend, wicking, THICK winter socks for $2.39 a pair, foam drink holders for 44 cents, nice big candles for 50 cents, wood furniture cleaner/polishing stuff for $1.49, gun patches to clean my 9mm with for 59 cents and a NICE set of ear protectors for the gun range $7.49!

My feeling is that K-Mart stores are the next to feel the pinch like Montgomery Wards. My last few times in a K-Mart showed the store to be practically empty of customers with only one cash register lane open. I feel that the days for K-Mart are numbered.

Yep, they're killing the place to make room for the Light Rail expansion: Apartments and a train station.

From oakland (880), the easiest (not necessarily fastest, easiest though) way would be to take 880 South to where it turns into Hwy 17 and intersects 280. Take 280 South and get off at Meridian Ave as directed by the original poster. Hardly ever shop at Kmart so I'm not going. (even though it's less than 30 min away)

From 680 south, just go south until it turns into 280N and get off at Meridian.
