Big, high res CRT monitors?

Ok, it doesn't have to be that high res, 1280x1024 (or the more common 1280x960 and 1280x720) would be fine, but just wondering. I already have a video scaler that can convert component video up to 1280x1024 (and accept 1920x1080i in), and I was thinking of getting an LCD monitor(since LCD TVs are usually even more expensive and lower quality) and using it as a TV, but once past 21" they seem to get rather expensive, so I'm wondering if there are any greater than SDTV VGA CRT monitors out there that I could use.

i havnt seen a monitor in a long time that cant do 1280x1024 or better. you could always get a 2405 that has component in if you want to watch a hi-def source on your pc monitor.

If you dont mind a slight gamble you can get a used or refurbished 24" Sony FW900 CRT off Ebay, I've had mine for alittle over 5 months and its by far the best CRT I've owned, theres a large thread on it here.

Yeah, unfortunatly, big progressive scan tubes are a dying breed so the discontenued FW900 is basicly as good as it gets.

Hmm, I was hoping they made some monitors bigger than 24"; that's like 22" viewable and like 19" if you view 4:3 content on it. I guess I could go with a TV, but almost all CRT TVs don't support 720P and just scale it to 1080i, which sucks when a monitor could give so much better quality.

FW900 is 22.5" viewable in 16:10 and 19.88" viewable in 4:3 (I think) which makes it equal to a 21" CRT television or a 20" LCD.

Ya still cant beat a good CRT in terms of refresh rates and resolution choices. I have a discontinued viewsonic 22" P225F and im runnning 1600x1200 @ 100hz rather comfortably.

I have an 21" RasterOps Superscan Mc 21 (Hitachi) that can handle 1920x1200 and 2048x1536. I used it with AutoCad, but no longer now use those settings with my Adobe work.
