Big downloading difference between these two bandwidths

I do a lot of bittorent. With wired internet I get 3988/499 (down/up). With wireless I get 2299/463. Am I gonna see a big difference in bittorrent use?
 
are you using 802.11b? Cause that might explain things a bit (I don't know, my laptop does fine getting around 4 mbps/355 upload). You probably wouldn't, but possibly a dramatic decrease in max download.
 
I'm new to the wireless thing (my cat5 cable in the attic quit functioning and i really dont wanna crawl up there again).

I am using 802.11g. I have no security such as WEP to slow me down. I am just using MAC filtering(is that good enough?).
