big black line on screen with new geforce2 mx200

Just got a GeForce2 MX200. Installed the drivers on the CD and now there is a huge vertical black line thru center of the screen. when you mouse over this line everything gets inversed and stretched. Had a Voodoo3 before. In the display properties windows insists that there are 2 monitors. I tried removing the second monitor but windows redetects it every reboot. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

600@850 Duron
"CardExpert" Geforce 2 mx200
Gateway EV700 monitor
Abit KT7
ETC.

Try removing the GF2 and both of the monitors in Device Manager, then reboot and let it redetect them. I've had success with doing this with modems, video cards, etc.

I tried that and it seemed to be all good at the login screen for windows. But once I logged on the screen flickered off then on and the big and wide black line was back and windows once again searched for 2 monitors bleh thx for trying though, anyone else have ne ideas?

I dont know if this will help, but in 1024x768 and 800x600 the huge black line appears and the screen colors get darker, but in modes like 1152x864 the screen appeared fine and there were no problems.
