And to further clarify the record, the Ravens are *technically* the expansion team, not the Browns. All of the Browns history, records, etc. remained in Cleveland as part of the deal allowing the Browns to leave. So the Browns didn't technically pack up and leave -- only their "former" players did. 😀

Also, the Browns were a power in the AFC for several years in the late 80s/90s but could never get over the John Elway Hump.

1) This is a forum for discussion, not a witching counsel. Given that, we're afforded the privilege of "if it looks like shit, smells like shit, and tastes like shit..." assessments.

2) Witches are fictitious. Rape isn't (right?). Your sensationalistic comparison to witch hunting wasn't lost on us. Did the girl put herself in a stupid situation? Yes, but I'm appalled that some people actually try to pass that off as a justifiable reason for rape. We tell our women they can say 'no' at any time, yet we have misogynistic twats stopping just short of saying she deserved it.

A well written response, but you seem to think I was addressing a different matter than I was. I was commenting on the guy that accused slim of also being a date raper, because he took a devil's advocate position. I was not commenting on Ben's actions.

the Browns are the expansion team. The league added no new teams when they moved to Baltimore.

It did expand, however, when the expansion Browns showed up.

Oh, I spent many a day arguing this with a former coworker, die-hard Cleveland fan--me being a dick, mostly, as I don't give a shit about the Browns. 😀

Sad, but true 🙁 But for what it's worth this is the first time I've actually had hope. Take Eric Wright out of the equation and the browns are +3 for the season. Take Delhomme out of the equation and who knows. McCoy went to shit when it started snowing, so that worries me...

Sorry, but your coworker is correct. 😀 From the league's perspective, the Ravens were the actual "new" team to join the league (they had no history), as the Browns were deactivated (the league temporarily lost a team) and the Ravens were born to replace them (back to the original number). Yes, when the Browns were "reactivated" the size of the league did expand, but they're not regarded as a new expansion team but rather, a continuation of the old team.

Too bad Baltimore could not figure out a way to make it a 3 way deal to repair the damage from Colts move as well. Too many hard feelings between the city, fans, and the Irsays for that ever to happen I guess.
