the vending machine where I work has an interesting assortment of healthy/unhealthy, good /total shit tasting foods. There is some company and all their products have "Big AZ" in the name, I laughed at the retarded name then noticed they are from actually from AZ - the name is kind of haha tasteless but I was hungry and true to the name it looked really, really big.

it was $2.50, the wrapper said it weighed, umm I believe 9.5 OZ's total, Bun was pretty big, cheese was normal patty looked unnaturally large, it was thick and stuck out a good inch all around the bun. It really didn't look right at all, I've never seen a patty like this, dunno how much of the 9.5oz's the meat was, but for $2.50 this f*cker was BIG! The size + low price should have been a warning sign. Stupid me paid it no mind.

I microwaved it, took a bite and holy shit it was baaaaad, like bad on a level where I almost didn't want to think about eating another Hamburger ever again. The meat had a texture that made me wonder if it was actually beef, and it was unusually moist. Which is usually a plus but it had no taste at all, and this was beyond moist. But, I was very hungry and we only get 30 minutes for lunch so I decided I would finish it. I love burgers, and this was horrific. I don't think even Homer Simpson would give it a good review. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

The machine also has Big AZ Chicken Sandwich, as well as a few other Big AZ products. I don't think I'm daring enough but I might end up trying the chicken one it just to see if it's as bad as the burger. The Chicken one also looks unnaturally large. What scares me is I've seen these in a ton of places, so some people must really like them. I don't think if I was starving I could manage to eat this again.

I used to fill vending machines. We had some decent food, but it was made by the company. We also had hot pockets, and other name brande stuff. My favorite company made product was the pizza burger.

The coolers on most the trucks didn't work, so the food was at 80+ deg. for up to 10 hours sometimes before it got in the cool machine. That kinda weirded me out.

you should try one, maybe I got one from a bad batch, or maybe I got one from a truck mattocs said have broken cooling and the food is 80f all day :) I would really be interested in seeing another persons opinion, they do keep vanishing from our machine so somebody is eating them

There are plenty of people at my work that will eat anything. They probably think a can of chili with half a gallon of Tabasco sauce is a light breakfast. I wouldn't gauge popularity with quality. It does sell well over here too.

haha I know, but we have stuff in the machine that actually tastes good, I could understand people eating them if it's all we carry, but I ate it and can't stop thinking about people who actually prefer them over the higher quality stuff we have - like the Tony Roma Rib Sammiches (think MCRib) the only possible selling point besides people having no taste, is the size. Since it's already cooked so the patty won't shrink any more, I gotta assume it was 7 ounces which is freaking gigantic. I sometimes wish I was one of those people who can eat anything and be happy.

Look at it this way...

Some people like Lima Beans and Brussel Sprouts... some don't.

Some people like Big Az burgers, some don't. :p

That kind of meat is probably about 50% bread filler. Pure beef would spoil too quickly.

It's made the same way those frozen meatballs in the stores are made.

Since when do they sell burgers from vending machines? Around here it's just chips, candy, snack cakes, and once in a while beef jerky or pop tarts.

I've seen it alot.

I've even seen White Castles sold, frozen, out of a vending machine.

Although... what they have in Japan is crazy. :)

The first one is like that. Give it a while. Those were a staple of mine while I was on night shift.

There is one country that has real french fries to vend. It take the raw potatoes and drops them in hot oil right there. I alway think of those warning labels they use to warn people not to try and tip the machine (the ones with the picture of a guy getting crushed)...add crushed and on fire to it.

They sell the Big AZ stuff in our machines, the white castles and hot pockets. A few other selections too by Tony Romas and others.

They seem to sell regularly but the prices are steep...one hot pocket is about $3.

Speaking of vending machines, I really don't understand why they now have contract cell phone and iPod vending machines now. Prepaid cellphone I can understand, you activate on the fly and start calling. But what's the point of buying an iPod at the airport? It's not like you're going to have it fully charged and synchronized, ready to use on the flight!

With the exception of snacks/candy I never buy food from vending machines or roach coaches. Besides looking awful the thought just scares me. I'd rather bring something or go to Wendy's and get my unhealthy food made fresh to order.

I used to work at a place that had a kick-ass, freedom fry machine that served hot, lightly salted and perfect fries in a paper cup.

You microwaved a pre-cooked pre-made frozen hamburger, odds were already good that it was going to taste like AZ.

Lima beans & Brussels sprouts are good. That burger looks like a cow patty on a bun.

Yeah, freshness = healthier!

The main purpose of food in vending machines is those that forgot lunch and/or do not have time to leave the office.

I don't think anyone uses these daily for food items.

Sad that an animal had to die to make that nasty thing. Or maybe it wasn't even made of any animal parts, heheh.
