Biden on Indian Americans

Wow... is Michael Scott, Steve Carrell's character in The Office, based at all on Biden? That Biden clip sounds exactly like something Michael Scott would do-- plus, they are both from Scranton, PA.

That was a really stupid thing of him to say... but I doubt it will make a bit of difference in this election. In the meantime, we have people on the left who want to make a big deal about Sarah Palin NOT banning any books but asking a librarian about it when she elected mayor more than 10 years ago...

Democrats are allowed to insult people. Remember the Hillary "joke" about Ghandi owning a gas station??

Or course Republicans aren't allowed to even use words like 'uppity' because they are racists in nature.

This is too easy.

Almost forgot this:

As the country rapidly diversifies, Republicans are presenting a convention that is almost entirely white.

Only 36 of the 2,380 delegates seated on the convention floor are black, the lowest number since the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies began tracking diversity at political conventions 40 years ago. Each night, the overwhelmingly white audience watches a series of white politicians step to the lectern -- a visual reminder that no black Republican has served as a governor, U.S. senator or U.S. House member in the past six years.

Imagine someone of your race calls you a racially insensitive term for it. Now imagine someone of another race calls you the same thing. Which would you take offense to?

Just out of curiosity, what's the second most important position in an administration besides President? Secretary of State? Well Bush has had two Sec. of State's and they have both been black. How many black Sec. of State have any democrats had?

Ouch, that hurts. Republicans really are out of touch with American culture and values.

That's very true. Of course, they are clear exceptions and not the rule.

How was this not a big deal when the remark was made? You people are either ignorant or have poor memories.

What if people just lighten up in general? Damn, people say stupid shit all the time. It doesn't mean the Thought Police should be up their ass, Republican or Democrat.

I believe this is known as the "some of my good friends are black" defense.

Jesus, are you ignorant? Of course they are the same race. They're all Caucasians.

Or think about it another, rational way. You know how McCain constantly makes gaffes in which he doesn't know the difference between sunni and shia muslims, other foreign policy things like that? You know how they barely merit a mention? It's because Republicans are generally assumed to be "strong on defense", etc. If Obama were to make the same mistakes they would be blown up everywhere too. Same goes for diversity and interracial sorts of comments. One party is extremely diverse, one is comprised nearly entirely of white people. This is why one party can get away with people saying racist things and the other can't.

If you don't like it, tell the Republicans to stop race baiting as an electoral strategy and attract some minorities.

Which party had not one but two prominent members of the KKK. I'll give you a hint, it's not the Republicans.

Jesus, are you illiterate. Mani just said he was an American Indian, so they are NOT all Caucasians.

Don't take the analogy literally - I'm using it to make a point. Just take a look at the racial makeup of the democratic and republican conventions and you'll see why people give republicans more scrutiny when they make racially-charged statements.
