So this is what the Lincoln Project is about? Awesome, because we really need to hollow out more government programs so we can transfer more money to wealthy. We mustn't forget the true meaning of the transfer of wealth.... /s

Is he talking about NeverTrumpers or GOP candidates that campaigned against Trump? Joe Walsh? Bill Weld? I'd be ok with it--on one condition. Mitch McConnell can no longer be majority leader or no longer a sitting Senator come January. If Mitch is still in charge of the Senate, fuck a "bipartisan" cabinet.

I'm fine with anyone who isn't currently holding office, especially if they lost their seat because they didn't back trump enough and there are a few out there like that.

So we all know every Repub in the Legislature is afraid of Trump's enchantment spell over "his base" and have acted accordingly, knowing that to insult Trump by advising him to be more "presidential" or even be more thoughtful of how he looks to the rest of the nation and abroad is to resign themselves to being put on Trump's "enemy's list" and assured to lose in their next bid to get reelected.

In this light, it's interesting to see how these two faced scumbags will give up every ounce of their integrity, morals and ethics in order to appease their party's leader's twisted sense of loyalty. It's throwback barbarism in character and so revealing of the depths of depravity and hypocrisy these Repubs up on the hill will resort to in order to stay on the good side of that broke dick thick skulled thin skinned prima donna of theirs.

I hope the nation never ever forgets what those Repubs in high gov't positions are made of now that Trump has brought out the worst in them, or is it really the worst they're capable of?

Tea Party Patriots Never Trumpers are going to come out of the woodwork right around the time the Democrats get close to passing some bill that will help all Americans, to decry it as Socialism/Communism/Fascism. They will all claim to have never even heard of Donald Trump, who was probably a Democrat anyway, and this time they're really really super dupery going to fight for America.

Who is he going to pick for his voter fraud organization and which lawyer to keep his dumbass out of jail?

"Joe Biden brags about having “the most extensive and inclusive VOTER FRAUD organization in the history of American politics” "

I couldn't even make this stuff up.

Ever feel like Democrats are playing by the rules where as republicans are constantly coming up with ways to break all the rules? Democrats don’t voter suppress, Democrats don’t praise dictators, Democrats don’t defecate on the constitution, Democrats don’t pack the courts, Democrats don’t do a lot of nasty things that republicans do. Yet, every time republicans pull something like voter suppression or screwing with the postal system to steal an election, Democrats feel outraged as if republicans have never tried this before. I would hope that someday Democrats would realize that they are the only ones who are playing by the rules and Democrats should never expect that from a republican. This isn’t your normal ballgame where both sides play by the same rules, in this ballgame one side play the game while the other side is hiding all the balls and bats from the other side and calling that baseball.

Yeah, bringing republicans into the fold will only give them undeserved legitimacy, and they'll claim they found Jesus. Then when they get voted back in, it'll be the same old bullshit.

The republican party needs to be burned to the ground and replaced. Im not interested in helping them rise from the ashes.

One hundred percent agree. 90% of Republicans voted for trump over clinton and they'll do it again this year. Can't have them in cabinets seats if that's where their morals and ethics lie.

This is a very bad idea. If the voters elect you because you’re not a fascist then don’t bring fascists into the house when you win. Republicans didn’t sign on to the party because they are ethical people.

Not all Republicans are fascists, and blanket accusations like that just lead to more polarization and hatred. Most Republicans have been in politics for a LOT longer than the President, they didn't sign up for Trumpism- they got hijacked.

It's a good idea in my opinion. Otherwise you are devolving into the cess pit that is the GOP; hateful, spiteful and all about payback. If no one is willing to give and try to find some common ground, it's inevitable where things will lead.

It's looking more and more likely that Trump is going to be kicked to the curb in just over a week, barring some sort of coup scam via the courts or whatever else he has waiting. After taking power in January, to take a page from Trump's book and spend four years doing everything you can to piss all over Republicans will only lead to more of the same. Another lunatic candidate they nominate, that may end up winning. Never mind it may be one as twisted as Trump, but intelligent and strategic as well, which would be a nightmare.

If your politics devolves into nothing but 4-8 years of payback through a revolving door, it is inevitable that you're going to wind up in a violent civil war imo.

I can see that the GOP is currently an extremist group, with much of their base out of touch with actual reality at this point. Ignoring it won't make it go away. They definitely need to be kept out of power until they moderate themselves and check back in to reality, but treating them like pariahs is only going to make them more fanatical. If Trump loses, it's looking like their plan is to start a 'news' network, a la Fox. Expect it to be extremist madness peddling conspiracy theories and this is how Trump plans to pay back Biden for kicking his ass; spreading insanity through far-right news. The base is going to get even more radicalized. Something really needs to be done to de-radicalize the GOP. Until they stop believing insane conspiracy theories, 30 some million of them stop believing in Qanon, stop claiming climate change is a hoax and so on, they are going to be a continued threat trying to drag the US back into medieval times.

Sort of as an aside, those discussions of court-packing make sense to me. Sandbag the issue until they are in power, but do it. You can't have a country where fanatics are dictating what people do with their bodies, who they marry and the rest of those red meat issues. A lot of the problem to a degree, in my eyes, is how much religion has forced its way into right wing politics. There is no place for it there, keep it in your house, and amongst those who share the same beliefs. Otherwise shut the fuck up with it and don't force it on other people. The whole premise is antithetical to the intention that got America off the ground, it's ridiculous.

The Republican Party has been an openly fascist party for four decades and has flirted off and on with fascism for almost a century now. Anyone choosing to join that party or stay with that party is a fascist. Trump’s policies are in lockstep with what the party has been doing for decades. The only change is that Trump doesn’t sugar coat his fascism in bullshit like “kinder, gentler “ or “compassionate conservative”.

Tarot cards or Ouija board? Just because some article says Biden's team is vetting GOP candidates doesn't mean he'll pick any of them.
