I ask....
WHY would it seem that ONLY DEMOCRATS have to suffer this Charlie Brown syndrome? Never ending doom and gloom. Nothing ever works out as planned. Democrats win the presidency, win the house, win the senate, and then Lucy comes along to pull away the football. Poor Charlie Brown, poor democrats. Democrats were all hyped to kick that football to the moon, then... along comes two senate democrats to pull the football away. And the Biden agenda spins on its head as we hear a loud AAUGH!!!

Yet.... on the other side, the republican side, republicans always find their legal quirks and little loopholes or some obscure rule or twisted procedure or find a way to pervert the process to allow them to do whatever the fuck they like.
Take the Jan 6 committee or the two Trump impeachment hearings, people were subpoenaed and republicans simply ignored them. A legitimate legal order to appear before a court or judge, and republicans simply ignore it all, AND.... got away with it. AGAIN, republicans get away with it.
Charlie Brown could never get away with this, or should I say democrats could never.
Just an observation.

Because the Democrats don't care about any of the shit they run on if it'll cost rich people anything. They're the American Tory party. They take the left's votes for granted because the alternative is the American Nazi party in control. But the Nazis will take the house and senate this year and the presidency in 2024 so all roads lead to American Nazi control anyways.

It is darkly hilarious that Manchin wants GOP buy in to change the rules under regular order to improve the functioning of the Senate. He couldn't round up more than one GOP vote for his voting bill. If I was wrong so often and failed so badly at this "bipartisanship" which he's deemed essential to the very fabric of the universe itself I might be embarrassed. Not to mention how factually wrong he is on the filibuster basically anytime he opens his mouth about it.

Want to fix the Senate? Junk all the rules that impose anything other than simple majority votes, not counting constitutionally set requirements for impeachment, amendments, etc.

He wants to foster bipartisanship. Yet it's under the current rules that the organization is the most partisan in its history. There's no possible way he can be dumb enough to believe that his strategy will fix it.

What does it matter if Biden supports it? They votes aren't there to do it. And?

I agree sort of…..
I would like to see more votes in the Senate, I would like to know whom is pro voting rights vs against voting rights because if there is a 2024 shit show where a bunch of votes get tossed because reasons we know whom to hold accountable.

There is every reason to believe that reverting to simple majority, as constitutionally ordained, will cause more bipartisanship not less.

Where's Romney in all this? Guy is in a state that has mail in voting. Is beyond safe for reelection. Mitch has *no* power over him. Trump has no power over him. Where's he at in all this? This is the part that chaffs my ass so bad. Manchin and Sinema taking all the blame (rightfully) while just accepting that the other 50 R's in the chamber are going to do fuck all. Hell what about Toomey who's not even running for reelection? Fucking stand up you cowards.
Romney put out a statement condemning the push to weaken the filibuster.
She's just a trash human being. Can't believe she used to be Green Party.
Green Party is mostly, if not all trash.

Why would a shitbag like Romney stand for anything decent? He was a corporate looter who destroyed companies and good peoples' lives so he and his criminal friends on Wall Street could leech the value of the companies into their pockets. I hate the rehabilitation of his image when all he did was cast a few meaningless votes against Trump but voted with him any time his vote could have made a difference. If we ever had anything like the French Revolution here vultures like Romney would be the first to the guillotines.

We're talking about Joe Manchin - the guy that allegedly asked about work requirements for paid family leave.

Yeah let's not give Manchin the benefit of the doubt that he's just dumb. Same asshole who raised the woman who jacked the price up of epipens to five times the price because fuck people with allergies.

I don't know what will go on in that Biden/Sinema/Manchin meeting, but I hope Biden shows as much anger as he did earlier today talking to the media.
Joe can be a real asshole. Joe can be foaming at the mouth mean. I want to see that Joe Biden, especially now. I have noticed that even Fox News cringes when Joe gets really mad, as if Fox is questioning where they stand on the issue. Fox questions, maybe Biden is right on this one?

He has absolutely no power over them. No way Sinema gets through a primary at this point and no way a different democrat gets elected in WV.

It doesn't matter, the supreme court will over turn anything sent to them and voters will punish Democrats for nothing getting done.

Someone on Twitter described exactly this and called it "anti-governance" or something to that effect.
