Lucy Flores, the 2014 Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor of Nevada in 2014, alleged then-Vice President Joe Biden kissed the back of her head during a campaign event that year in the state. In an article published Friday in The Cut, Flores wrote that Biden touched her shoulders before kissing the back of her head, describing the alleged incident as "demeaning and disrespectful."
..
"I found my way to the holding room for the speakers, where everyone was chatting, taking photos, and getting ready to speak to the hundreds of voters in the audience," Flores wrote. "Just before the speeches, we were ushered to the side of the stage, where we were lined up by order of introduction. As I was taking deep breaths and preparing myself to make my case to the crowd, I felt two hands on my shoulders. I froze. 'Why is the Vice President of the United States touching me?'"
She says Biden then leaned in and "inhaled her hair" before kissing her.
"He proceeded to plant a big slow kiss on the back of my head. My brain couldn't process what was happening. I was embarrassed. I was shocked. I was confused…I couldn't move and I couldn't say anything. I wanted nothing more than to get Biden away from me. My name was called and I was never happier to get on stage in front of an audience."

Ol creepy Joe. Not really a big deal to me, but the dude is very, very handsy. And it will play a role in the election no doubt. Prepare to be blasted with a ton of this mess, especially him being creepy around kids. Personally I just think he’s a dude from another era and that’s just kind of how he is, that it’s not sexual for him just....I dunno....how he is.

He's weird and maybe getting a little senile. Small potatoes in the age of a pussy grabbing, pornstar banging guy who probably raped an ex wife. I don't see that going far with the number of people who don't think Franken should have stepped down. He will probably get some resistance from the left though, the Obama days are over and many want new blood frankly.

But GOP supporters forfeited the right to bitch about this kind of thing Nov of 2016. They made their beds, now they get to enjoy them. Everyone can officially ignore their hypocritical family values shit from here on out. I'm sure they'll run with this if they can though.

Speaking of amusing levels of hypocrisy, McConnell thinks there's unprecedented levels of obstruction taking place guys, I shit you not. Not just a shit encrusted turtle, he also has Alzheimer's Hot damn that's hilarious.

Franken shouldn’t have stepped down. He had the opportunity to say no, we can’t be a nation of gotchas over stupid crap that ruins your lives. me too has been good and bad, but I’ll side with the good.

Considering that Lucy Flores is from Nevada and:

1. Democratic State Senator Mark Manendo was forced to resign in 2017 due to sexual harassment allegations;
2. Democratic State Assemblyman Mike Sprinkle was forced to resign in 2019 due to sexual harassment allegations;
3. Democratic former State Senator and Congressman Ruben Kihuen didn't run for reelection in 2018 after being dogged by sexual harassment allegations;
4. Ruben Kihuen has elected to run for local office and he or an ally decided to use public shaming of his accusers as an election strategy;

sexual harassment will play a big roll in the Nevada elections.

Considering Nevada is an early primary state and much more ethnically diverse (i.e., representative of national demographics) than any of the white bread states before it, a poor showing in Nevada could spell doom for a candidate.

Franken shouldn’t have stepped down. He had the opportunity to say no, we can’t be a nation of gotchas over stupid crap that ruins your lives. me too has been good and bad, but I’ll side with the good.

"Leeann Tweeden
Tweeden, an L.A. radio host, wrote in a blog post on Nov. 16 that Franken forcibly kissed her during a rehearsal for a United Service Organizations (USO) skit in 2006. Franken was a comedian at the time and not yet in office.

“He came at me, put his hand on the back of my head, mashed his lips against mine, and aggressively stuck his tongue in my mouth,” Tweeden wrote. “I felt disgusted and violated.”

She also included a photo of herself sleeping on an aircraft wearing body armor and a helmet, while Franken appears to be touching her breasts as he looks mischievously toward the camera.

Lindsay Menz
Four days later, on Nov. 20, another allegation against Franken surfaced, this time about an incident that happened after he became a senator. Menz told CNN that Franken put his hand on her butt while they posed for a photograph at the Minnesota State Fair in 2010.

Anonymous
Another woman spoke to the Huffington Post, anonymously for fear of online retaliation, just two days after Menz came forward, on Nov. 22. She said that Franken groped her butt during a photo op at an event hosted by Minnesota’s Women’s Political Caucus in Minneapolis in 2007.

Anonymous
A second woman, who also spoke on condition on anonymity for professional reasons, told HuffPost that Franken “cupped her butt with his hand” at a 2008 Democratic fundraiser in Minneapolis and suggested that they “visit the bathroom together.”

“My immediate reaction was disgust,” she told HuffPost. “But my secondary reaction was disappointment.”

Stephanie Kemplin
Kemplin, an Army veteran, told CNN on Nov. 30 that Franken touched her breast during another USO tour in Kuwait in 2003.

“I remember clenching up and how you just feel yourself flushed. And I remember thinking, ‘Is he going to move his hand? Was it an accident? Was he going to move his hand?’” she said. “He never moved his hand.”

Former New England elected official
A former elected official of a New England state told Jezebel on Nov. 30 that Franken tried to give her a “wet, open-mouthed kiss” onstage during an event in 2006, one year before he announced his Senate run. “It was onstage in front of a full theater,” she said. “It was insidious. It was in plain sight and yet nobody saw it.”

Former Democratic congressional aide
This week on Dec. 6, the former aide told Politico that the senator tried to “forcibly kiss her” after a taping of his radio show in 2006. She said that she ducked to avoid him and that, as she tried to leave the room, Franken told her: “It’s my right as an entertainer.”

Tina Dupuy
The following day, Dupuy, a former congressional staffer, wrote an op-ed in The Atlantic titled “I believe Franken’s accusers because he groped me, too.”

Her encounter took place at a Media Matters party during the first Obama inauguration, in January 2009. As she posed for a photo with Franken, she recalled that he “immediately put his hand on my waist, grabbing a handful of flesh. I froze. Then he squeezed. At least twice.”

Wtf is it with people and personal space, why don't people get it?

I manage a fairly diverse department at my work and I don't have an issue cracking jokes or discussing sensitive subjects but all physical contact with anyone I work with is purely professional (shake hands is about it).

Work with a number of women I would consider friends in any other context, but I keep it strictly professional with them (i.e. no hugs good-bye or anything) because I honestly don't know how my actions can be interpreted by other people and I don't want to jeapordize my job over it.

How the hell do these extremely public figures not get it? Why do so many of them tend toward doing stupid crap like this?

Hmmmm. Touched her shoulders and kissed the back of her head... allegedly. Well that will make sure the evangelicals gravitate to the lying cheating porn star banging leacherous grab them by the pussy candidate who bragged about walking in on underaged girls while they were dressing and has dozens of allegations of sexual misconduct/assault.

Good thing they can keep their values intact.

Can’t believe the OP even posted this given it’s a single woman and nothing has been decided in a court of law.

I think we can expect conservatives trying to pull another Franken and have Ds take out one of their own.

They don't actually give a shit about anything.

Was this concern what led you to start a thread about an alleged innocent peck on the back the head?

That's exactly what they plan to do. It's how they won in 2016 so why not do it again?

I just read the OP. Sounds like Joe's misguided attempt to provide fatherly encouragement and soothe her stage anxiety. A normal person would just say "don't worry, you're gonna do great." Biden gives a shoulder rub and a kiss on the back of the head.

Won’t someone stop the GOP from making us shoot ourselves in the foot!

Biden is an experienced politician, so his gaffes are surprising, although he is also known for them. Apology tour 2019 is not going so well for him.

Sounds like it worked, since she was never happier to get on stage than after that incident :p

Biden, playing that 5d chess like a boss!

If only he'd grabbed her pussy, then it would have been acceptable, right?

Biden is old, white and male; all the wrong boxes checked there. I see no way Dems are letting a white male make it to the top of the ticket this time. Even Beto should get ready for those charges of inappropriate behaviors. Character assassinations, real or fabricated, are always the first assault from the D team and they'll have no problem taking out one of their own.

Mayor Pete (who is gay) was on real time, and they joked with him "you'll be the only white male with minority cred, plus you've probably never made inappropriate advances on a woman."

I am 100% surprised to see that the slime machine is gearing up against the Dem front-runner. I still maintain that this machine would not have been aimed and/or would not have been effective against Bernie in 2016.
