[Hayabusa Rider]

I have a Cannondale bike with Ultegra components. It has been mothballed for years. I now live where I won't get killed riding it, so I went to a bike shop to get new tires. They offer a service where they will complete take apart everything, clean, lube and adjust. Several hours worth of work. The bike was worth about 2k new 8 years ago.

The price is $114. Is that reasonable?

We get about $129 for a complete overhaul at our shop, or we did. I lowered the price since that advent of sealed cartridge bottom brackets. We get $95. now as I recall.

THanks! Seems their prices are in line then. I know it must be a lot of labor, and I couldnt even get the damn tires on my bike Figure I ought to let someone else chase the bearings around the floor this time

I would say that is fair. Around here the shops charged about $100, and I have a friend who works out of his garage and charges $90. Make sure they overhaul the headset, one of the shops around here doesn't do it for an overhaul.

You might end up needing new parts too (cables, housing, chain, maybe cassette). I would tell the shop what to use beforehand if anything needs to be replaced or you could end up with a really cheap or really expensive replacement.
