ATOT bicycle riders! Who are you? Got tips? How do you ride it?

I ride to school and back (1.3 miles lol), and on weekends for fun!
I have regular Walmart $100 mountain bike. My 4th one, actually.
Also, this site has some very good tips on safety!

If your bike is communicating with you lay off the drugs for a while. Many bicyclists do use their bikes for commuting however. I just use mine for exercise/fun.

One does not drive a bicycle or motorcycle, both are ridden. Much like a horse is ridden.

A link on fitting a bicycle http://www.coloradocyclist.com/bikefit/index.cfm#A

I am old and have had knee&hip injuries. I can do a 30 mile day w/o headwinds or steep
grades. My next major purchase for my MTB http://www.bikeengines.com/index.htm
Once installed my MTB becomes a mo-ped. Take the belt off and bike trails are an option.

I have a nice Specialized road bike right now.

When I graduated HS, I quit running. Thirteen years of track and some football in there = bad knees for me. Cycling keeps the constant compression off my knees. When I bike, I typically go about 40+ miles, with plenty of water and powerbar gel. Though I haven't been biking in a while, since I'm focusing more now on building up muscle and going to the gym right now.

My tips: always wear a helmet and get some clipless pedals!

I ride my Trek Fuel during the week as a commuter, and on the weekends as a trail blazer :) :p

I have two sets of rims/tubes/tires that I alternate. One set is rather light weight, with Maxxis Hookworms, the other set is heavy, with Panaracers.

Yes, I enjoy past 10pm rides very much, but not enough light worries me!
Thanks for the link, reading it right now.

And do you HAVE to use a helmet? In 5 years I never seriously fell off the bike, except that time car hit me on my left side... *knock on the wood*
And yes, I ride without helmet, I can't stand it + it wont let me put on my $100 cans (full size headphones).

let's put it this way: when you fall, your head will fall from a height of about 6 feet (more if you're standing up), and because your legs are being held more or less in place by the bicycle, you WILL be falling on your head. add in however fast you were going when you fell, and yeah, it would be smart to wear a helmet.

also, if you're stupid enough to wear isolating headphones while riding, your chances of falling are tripled. first they are doubled by not being able to hear anything, and then they are tripled by you being so stupid.

you big stupidhead. ;)

I commute and ride for exercise/fun. I commute on an old beater Scott Vail mountain bike. I go out on organized rides and what not on a 2006 Fuji Roubaix Pro.

I'll post some links once I can dig a few of them up. :)
