Poster says he isn't biased, he just never looks at any CPUs under $300. Isn't that the dictionary definition of the word? why, yes, it is. How is it a personal attack to correct a poster who claims he isn't bias when he clearly is?

Next personal comment about bias, or anything else gets time off. You all can clearly see the moderator warning a few posts above this one. This applies to everyone.
Anandtech Moderator - Keysplayr

How the fuck was that a personal attack? Bias is a word, it has a clear definition. He is bias in his arguments because he ignores an entire segment of the market, the $300 and under segment. That is the definition of the word. Is there another word to describe the flaw in his reasoning I should have used other than bias, that wouldn't be considered a personal attack?

A personal attack would be like telling another poster to "eat shit", which scali did on the previous page of that thread.

Thanks for the infraction. I suspect Keysplayr will give me another one for this, but he has PMs disabled. I'd speculate on why he has them disabled, but he would probably take that as a personal attack and give me another infraction.

"Eat shit, a billion flies can't be wrong" is a common saying. It points out a certain fallacy, namely that just because a large group of people does something, it is not necessarily the right thing to do.
It wasn't a personal attack.

And another thing, the $300 price was a result of the criteria I mentioned, the $300 itself is not a rule.
I'd buy cheaper CPUs if they offered what I was looking for. But they don't.
I ignore products that don't offer what I'm looking for. That's not bias, that's common sense.

Let me just say this as an observation...Scali's "posting style" certain creates a lot of friction on this forum. I wish he would temper it a little.

Only on certain subjects, when certain individuals are involved.
Read my entire posting history, and you'll come to the same conclusion.
I have posted in many threads, on many subjects over the years, and rarely have I been subject to the level of attacks of the past few weeks.
In my opinion, some people carry a grudge against me, and just can't control their desire to argue with me, in an attempt to prove me wrong, no matter how much they have to pick my posts apart and twist my words (I'm not exactly a bumbling fool, my language skills and subject knowledge are generally good enough to deliver pretty coherent posts, where it is hard to find fault if you play by the rules).

I personally find it infuriating when a member has so much bias that they cannot have
an objective discussion, so I can relate to the OP.

I don't see this forum. Maybe I'm blind.

"No shit sherlock" is also a common saying, I don't think that being a common saying automatically makes a personal attack fine and dandy. You could easily point out the same fallacy without the embedded personal attack. Is it okay to call someone an idiot if you later defend yourself by saying it was a quote from some movie?

In the same way, your posts claiming you aren't biased, you merely avoid the sub $300 market is a fallacy. I was pointing out your fallacy using the only word for "bias" that I know, which is "bias".

The expression "Eat shit, a billion flies can't be wrong" doesn't literally mean that you are telling someone to eat shit. The meaning is completely different. So your analogy fails.

And for the last time, the $300 figure is a RESULT of my requirements. Stop misrepresenting it.

The mod posted "personal references need to stop..."

"Yes, you are biased" is a personal reference.

The end.
