Well, I am satisfied for the time being... :) I have looked into the few people running 4 GHz+, and found that some are cooling with liquid nitrogen long enough to run some benchmarks, and others are modding their phase-change cooling systems with refrigerants other than the stock gas to obtain colder temps. I have seen one person that has the skills necessary to fully mod his mobos with extra capacitors, voltage mods, etc... Others have just obtained a sweet processor... ;) Most have to run a high VCore, which is not acceptable to me even though I am using phase-change cooling since it is the high voltage, not temps that will kill the processor. I am not ready to go to these extremes to eek out another 200 MHz. Mine is a stable "daily runner" so far at moderate VCore, and I like it that way. :)

I can hit 3950 MHz stable with high VCore, but it is not worth the risk of smoking a $500.00+ processor.

On another note, a friend of mine offered to go out and purchase a retail box 3.06 and trade it for mine. (he is serious) What would you do?? Do the trade and hope that it is a 4GHz wonder chip, or keep what you already have?

I just read the rest of your thread here. I do not think you have to worry about over volting your CPU and shortening your CPU's life since Abit boards undervolt.
Crank that sucker up to +15% and see what it can do :D

--editted to add--

Maybe not. Your memory might be a hinderence. I never heard of Kingstons PC2700 ram getting close to 200MHz FSB. Otherwise it would be OC'ers delight.

So where did you get your cooling setup from?
ICEePC
Technonut, do you have to plug the ATX 12v connector through the control unit on the Prometeia?
No, not on the Prometeia. I did a lot of research before investing in phase-change cooling. The Prometeia is by far the best solution IMO. I appreciate the info you linked ketchup79...

Already been there, done that... ;)

Both 512MB sticks of my PC2700 Kingston Value RAM will run (separately) @ 456 MHz (2-6-3-3) ;)

EDIT: Tates: I am seriously considering the swap :)....

Ouch... it costs more than your CPU :p

I was thinking it might be in the $300+/- range.

Also all your links do not show with Mozilla. Saying something that your image is bad or something along those lines.
Just double checked it. It says it (images) contain errors...

Speed costs.... :) Seriously, after all of the cash I have spent on watercooling gear, high-end HSFs etc.. over the years, investing in the Prometeia is not bad considering that It can be used with whatever I happen to be running. I have the Socket A adapter kit as well. ;) I am certain that other adapter kits will be made available as needed.

Damn, I forgot that folks running Mozilla have problems when I upload pics to Brinkster. I will upload them to Paulson's site and re-link when I can.
