So i need a bigger drive and im looking at a wd1800jb, since the mobo wont see more then 137gigs would partitioning the drive into two 90gig drives work?
If that wouldnt work, would the disk manager software supplied with the drive help at all? Or do i have to buy a pci ide controller?

It would suprise me if it was able to see a drive over 80 gig. You wouldn't be able to divide it like that because the bios is not going to see the drive properly. I don't believe that disk manager software can over come the IDE controller limitations. The only way to see the whole drive is to have a 48 bit capable controller, so an ATA 100 or 133 card is what you need.
