I was trying to flash the newest bios to my bh6 and I followed the directions as best as I could from the Abit web site(they were awful). I was flashing the bios and the completion bar went all the way to the end without any errors and then nothing happened. It didn't say it was complete or anything. I thought well maybe since the flashing program was so basic and being in dos that maybe it wasn't supposed to say complete...meybe it was simply done. Well I now have a feeling the flashing didn't work correctly. After I flashed it I couldn't do anything else but press the reset button...nothing else worked. Before I did that I noticed the warning message at the bottom of teh screen that said not to turn off or reset the computer. But since I couldn't do anything else and reseting was the next step according to the directions I did it anyway. Well when I reset nothing happens. The computer starts up and I can start to hear it click away...but there is no visual and Nothing goes anywhere...just a blank screen. I have a feeling I'm in a LOT of trouble aand I'm not sure what to do. I switched the CMOS jumper to try and put it back to default...and that didn't do anything. Anybody have any ideas?

Can't do a boot block flash on a BH6...I got an ISA VidCard & have tried. I had a bad chip also (brand X), had to get a new Winbond Bios chip from Abit ($10.50)... :D

If you have the same kind of luck that I had with Abit, try Badflash.com. Twice the price, excellent service. Avoid Unicore at all costs.

I hate to admit it but I flashed my ZM6 the other day with a BM6 BIOS upgrade... Abit shipped out a replacement two day UPS for $26.00. I needed the comp back for work and half-life so it was worth it. I tried EVERYTHING but nothing worked (bootblock, hotswap of BIOS chip in another motherboard, other motherboard was older though but was right voltage).

Just letting you know I *did* have a good experience with Abit shipping out a replacement. There are others out there that do this service too so if you don't want to use Abit or spend $$$ you could try someone else... If you're in Chicago I'd flash the old BIOS chip I got sitting around with the proper BIOS and give it to you for a couple bucks or some interesting trade...

Good luck.

EDIT: That was just before the July 4th weekend - called Thursday during day, arrived Monday.
