At BFG's BFG Tech?sproduct pages you find three distinct GF6 series cards being offered; a GeForce 6800 OC, a GeForce 6800GT OC and a GeForce 6800Ultra OC. The OC stands for "OverClocked" and means that these video cards run faster than NVIDIA specification right out of the box and are guaranteed to do so. Worth noting is that these BFGTech GF6 cards are backed by their full lifetime warranty.

This being our first retail GeForce 6800Ultra video card we have reviewed we really cannot make any comparisons of the overclocking ability of this card to another card. Only to say that this video card?s core speed overclocked well beyond what we achieved on our reference GeForce 6800Ultra. Being able to take the core up to 460MHz air cooled will give gamers a performance boost in GPU dependent games.
nice! Thanks Mem

can't believe that review because hardocp are ati fanboys and manipulate tests to put ati ahead. don't understand what they have against nvidia, but all the ati love makes me sick.

oh wait, they actually liked the nvidia card...

DAPUNISHER you`re welcome.

Gururu I found the review interesting in the fact that it`s the first BFG 6800 Ultra OC review I`ve seen ,I guess I`m also an ATI fan, but wait I`ve a Nvidia card as well so I`m in the middle ;).

:)

Two things I notice. Where is the BFG with water block review? Plus they do not use new patch (1.2) for Far Cry. I know it is not out today, but it will be out soon. I thought I liked Hard OCP, but they allign themselves to much with ATI. There just seems to be to much bias. Give Nvidia a chance. Good God it is a brand new chipset. Drivers do take a little time to write. They act like it is all over, except the crying. That site reviews like noobs that listen to the Best Buy salesperson. LOFL Analogy of Hard OCP: The new Athlon 64 bit series is not very good because there is no OS that uses it. ROFL HARD OCP SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bottom Line :))

This time around, I like the X800 XT PE. The main reason isn't performance, but image quality. Even review sites that favor nVidia say that the X800 series has superior IQ.

HardOCP said they liked the 6800U OC.

Wow, ignorance is bliss I guess.

They dont use beta drivers (except when they have to because NV cant get an official set out), beta patches, beta anything. They dont like to use what people cant get themselves. Also, he stated he didnt have the patch when he did the review. The review has been done for a few weeks, well before the patch was "out". A policy that Anand used to use, but not anymore.

God, i hate |H| reviews. They aren't even using the same settings for the card. I mean come on how the hell is a card running at 1600x1200 staying equal with and sometimes winning over a card that is running at 1280x1024. |H| has become more of a clan... thx for the review anyways, but ill stick to Toms, Anandtech, ya know. Im not saying |H| reviews badly they are having some big problems lately though.

Its not insulting someone. And I dont really care what you tell me to do.

Ignorance: The condition of being uneducated, unaware, or uninformed.

He didnt know what he was talking about. Calling someone ignorant is not a slader on them, its the same as telling someone they dont know what they're talking about, just with using less words. He has made other topics to back this up.

All you do is troll after me, dont expect me to reply to your post anymore.

I find it interesting that HARDOCP thinks that with FPS under 25 things "playable" right... IMO slide shows suck. Also they said for those of you who like apples to apples comparisions.... yeah I think most people like to see comparisions on equal ground too... not seom BS they think is equal If you notice the Nvidia cards don't seem behind the ATI cards quite so much when they have the same settings. When they bump the res up on the first set of benchmarks it would seem like the ATI's would beat the Nvidias easy but when the same settings are applied there is virtually no difference in most of the games. I havn't been impressed with HARDOCP for awhile. They seem to be getting better so they don't show their anti Nvida stance quite as much but for awhile they were 100% ATI fan boys over there.

He did? Where? I have a water cooled BFG 470MHz in my rig right now. Show me where he reviewed that! I must be blind, because I do not see that in his review...

I tend to agree, comparing some of their FRAPS runs with what mine would be for the settings I would be playing with leaves about a 20FPS gap. I guess they have to cater to the 'over 30FPS you can't tell anyway' people. I do like that that they try to caompare settings at which the ATi and nVidia cards have equal ground.

I've found their info reasonably accurate for the games they test. I think the games they choose to test may be better performers on ATi hardware, which would definitely be an ATi slant, but I believe the data they present.

They still test on different resolutions....which still boggles my mind
especially since we got a guy over ont he hard forums whos playing Farcry at 16x12 with everything turned on and it plays just fine (according to him...I cant argue I dont have the card) and hes on a 2500 mobile @ 2.5ghz....he hasnt b1tched one time....So I dunno..

Anybody noticed this?

Far Cry

XT 1600 x 1200 no AA no AF
Min fps - 23

XT 1600 x 1200 4xAA 16xAF
Min fps - 25

So, HardOCP telling us that, in most demanding game, under the most demanding conditions, XT min fps actually increase when you enable 4xAA/16xAF.......cough..... I will say no more.

Makes sense. This is the same site that shows graphs that go into the negative numbers for FPS.

When a site makes their name and logo look like a quake clan. Then we should expect that level of intelligence in their review.

Yeah, because Anand's reviews are so perfect? I think we all know the answer to that one. They've screwed up several reviews.

dude... many sites have said Nvidia has picked up in the IQ department, compared to the last offering.

I play with all the options on 1600x1200 on my BFG 6800 Ultra OC and I have yet come to complain. it plays the game well. It does help that I am using 61.71 drivers.

No not by any means are Anand's review perfect by anymeans. We arn't talking about Anand's reviews either though. We are talking about HardOCP and their anti NV stance

Check out the link Leon just posted.. with 4x AA and 16 x AF min FPS go UP to 25 FPS from 23 FPS @ 0x AA and 0 x AF at the same resolution with the XT/PE seems a bit odd to me...

It could be a mistake, ever hear of those? I dont understand it either, but that doesnt make then anti-NV. Anand's has screwed up several times, always in favor in NV. Does that make them anti-ATi? I dont think so, it makes me think people make mistakes.

It takes me twice as long to read through HardOCP review because of their retarded different resolution testing method. I just ignore their reviews now.

Which is the best thing you can do. If you dont like it, there are many other reviews that do direct comparisons. I dont care for it much myself, but I dont go cry about it whenever they post a review, and claim they are anti-NV. I do think they do some of the best explaining and image quality comparisons out there though.
