BFG video cards

I look at the prices of BFG's line of GeForce cards. They're consistently more expensive than the other brands such as Gigabyte, Leadtek, Asus.

How is it that they can charge the premium? Are they better cards? Is it cuz of the fact that they claim their cards are OCed out of the box?

Because most have a lifetime warranty with 24/7 FREE tech support and most are overclocked from the factory. I've never owned a BFG product, but from what I understand, their tech support and warranty are supposed to be unrivaled.

You're paying for something you can do yourself and probably will do yourself anyways (OC).

EVGA is a much better choice IMO.

Everyone here on the forums seem to love EVGA. But where I'm from, Toronto, Canada EVGA's line of vidcards is not easy to find. BFG is more prevalent.

I agree with the factory OC. Furthermore, most nVIDIA vendors now OC their high end to mid range cards including XFX, Leadtek, Asus, and eVGA. I personally haven't had a great experience with my eVGA AGP 6600GT (the stock cooler, which I replaced with a Zalman VF700-AlCu, starting buzzing only after a couple of months, and I had to flash the BIOS to enable temperature monitoring, which comes enabled on a lot of other brands' cards), but that's just me.

They cost more, because they were the first to offer a real lifetime warranty. And they also had versions that were overclocked, and the first to do this with many mainstream cards I believe. Now others are doing the same thing, and are priced lower.

BFG has a good reputation for reliability. XFX on the other hand suffers from a poor reputation and consequently they have to make their products more enticing with lower prices and rebates.

XFX is going the ECS route to respectability by opening up a US branch and offering more enthusiast products. I do like their double owner warranty though.
