:roll:

When I Install the BFG 6800 ultra card It will play Unreal championship, Halo and every other game with no problem, but when I try to play Doom 3 or farcry there is a ripple like a wave running up my screen.

Is there anyone that has had this problem and if they have what did they do about it?

My Motherboard is
GA-7VT600 1394
VIA KT600 chipset
550 true power Antec Power supply with two separate connections going to video card
A gig of RAM

This does not happen when I run a BFG 5700 LE card in the machine just the 6800 ultra

the ripple is comonly reffered to as a "tear" and will always happen as long as you do not use vertical sync; though in some situations it can be far more noticeable than others. In Far Cry you can enable vsync though the configuration tool and make a file in your Far Cry dir called systemcfgoverride.cfg and in it place the line:

d3d9_TripleBuffering = "1"

That will give you much smoother framerate with vsync on.

Unfortunatly, Doom3 is an OpenGL game and there is no way to get triple buffering in Opengl on an Nvidia card, so its a bit of a tossup as to whether you would rather have tear free gaming or smooth framerate transitions.
