BFG out of control in Video?

I think he forgot to read this:

We intend this forum as a place to discuss various video products, including their performance specifications, their relative merits and problems and ways to get the most from them.

Recently, we have had far too much flaming, trolling, baiting, and personal attacks in far too many threads on this forum. Such behavior only gets in the way of meaningful discussions and detracts from the value of our forums, and it will not be tolerated.

A little consideration will help maintain the value of this forum, and all of our forums, for all of our members.

If his posts don't violate this in MANY ways, I have no comprehension of the English language.

IMO this is the worst kind of posting the mods were hoping to eliminate: name calling, personal attacks on my intelligence, way off topic remarks about ancient discussions of 5800s with links to them.

If this hateful behavior goes unchecked, the mods might as well just take down their sticky and let anything go.

This is the worst kind of petty bickering, and all I did to incite BFGs rampage was ask for links that prove his somewhat vague assertion that 2XAA was useless and did nothing.

He didn't state whether he meant RG AA,OG AA, or QuincunX for example, nor did he respond to my question about whether double the resolution with half the AA would provide better IQ. My questions were honest, and very valuable to someone whose video card cannot play at 4X, or someone considering a very high resolution with 2X versus a lower resolution at 4X.

I do not like to single a long standing member out, but IMO his posts like his in that thread are the catalyst for the mods sticky and having to clean house.

It seems that both you and him were mutual combatants. Thread was locked due to the flaming.

didn't read the flaming posts, but I agree with BFG that 2x AA is too weak to do an accurate benchmark. Ususally, reviews are done with some resolution, no AA, 4x AA, and then 8x AA or 16 if support. then they up the resoltuion and continue the pattern. Unless it's a VERY specific review, you won't find 2x AA very much. That's getting down to the nit an' gritty which most people don't need to know since they can derive a successful benchmark synopsis from the no AA and the 4x AA just as well without having to provide another graph. Again, as with BFG, i won't provide links cause, well, 2x AA benchmarks (let alone pictures) are hard to find 😉
