BFG NVidia 6800 Ultra OC lockups / studders

I realize this is a repost, but things like Half-Life 2 have been locking up for short ammounts of time (2 seconds, or so). I've disabled the fast write in my bios, which helped earlier in 3dmark 2005, but now Counter-Strike and Half-Life 2 do a little stutter every now and then.

Specs:

MSI K8N Neo 2 Platinum
AMD 64 FX-55
BFG NVidia 6800 Ultra OC
480W Antec Neopower

The GPU Core is running at 43 degrees celcius which doesn't seem too hot to me.

BIOS Version: 5.40.02.15.11

Yeah, every now and again in source it'll studder for a second and a half or so. I'm unsure why, I have plenty of power.

yeah... ANYONE HAVE A FIX FOR THIS???!!!! i was about to buy mobo and cpu but i decided not to... but you have plenty of power you shouldnt be doing this... ive reinstalled drivers like crazy and tried everything... well good luck and if you find a fix... PM me PLEASE!

Sorry if I missed something posted in the previous thread, but isn't this the "stuttering problem" that Valve acknowledged about a week ago? They released a steam patch for non-nVidia cards and are supposedly still looking into it further for nVidia cards. Has something to do with transferring textures into memory, but equally occurs on newer and older cards with 128M-256M (I currently see the same thing on my GFFX 5900), so it isn't a purely 6800 issue. The recent BETA nVidia 67.02 forcewares improves this, but it still occurs infrequently and is a minor annoyance.

Valve's work around was to turn down Textures and turn OFF AA/AF, but that isn't a solution many with a new high end card want to hear. 😉

so this is valve? DANGIT i was told it was probly my PSU so I spent 60 bux that I barely had on one... well ehh i had a 300W powmax it was the crappiest thing in my computer so I guess its not a bad thing...
