Hi,

Building a new budget rig. Mostly for gaming and web surfing.
so far i have purchased the following (for better or worse):confused:

MB - abit av8- 3rd eye
Case - Antec SLK3000b
Power - FSP Blue Storm 400W
Chip- AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1.8 GHz (939) 90 nm
Ram - also seek advice (will be trying to OC)

I just cant decide on the video card. The BFG GeForce 6600GT OC AGP looks great. But the price is so close to the 6800. I"m trying to keep the price below $275 so the 6800 will have to be probaly a "lesser" confused;
Any suggestions???
Thanks

Chaintech PCI-E mobo, 6600Gt, you will be glad you went pci-e in the long run.

EDIT: If you want to do some hard core overclocking get the DFI Nforce 4 ULTRA. 50 bucks more.

6800 is a great card. it really depends if yuo oc or not. if you plan to oc your cpu, then get a 6800gt(better perfromance correalation). if not, get a standard 6800.

yes. able to softmod. though the memory will never be as fast as that on the 6800gt.
