Well I bought a bfg 9800gtx oc from the egg last week and I started to tinker with it.I plan on getting a new monitor 1920x1080 and a hd-dvd blu ray drive next month so I figured I should get the overclock out of the way now.I am only @ 1280x720 now so my oc didn't really make a difference.I wrote it down so when I get my new monitor I can just change the clocks and start gaming.

I started off with these clocks stock 702 core-1728 shader-1101 memory
I ended up with this on stock air cooling 802 core-1944 shader-1166 memory

Is this a decent overclock? I ran it in ati tool for 30 minutes with no deltas.Played cod waw with no artifacts and did 10 perofrmance tests with the lost planet demo with no problems.I am gonna say this should be a stable over clock.

I pushed the card until I got deltas in ati tool then I backed off and ended up with the above clocks.

@ 1920x1080 wont most of the load be on my 9800gtx instead of on my E8400?
Do you think that with this overclock on my gpu and my stock E8400 that I will get good framerates in codwaw and NFS MW @ 1920x1080?

Don't know about how it'll do with the game, but dayam that's a good OC. Did you get the $150 with free-AR-RAM deal?

YEah I got it with the 2x2 corsair 800mhz ram.The best thing was I got some shitty service so I complained about to a cust service manager and they took $50 off of my bill.So I really paid $129 before my $30 MIR.Nothing better then paying $99 AR for a 9800gtx and 4 gigs of ram

I used riva tuner for the overclock software.I used ati tool to help scan for artifacts.
I played cod waw for awhile and i had no problems at all

Its a decent oc, though you could go a bit higher with shaders and memory. from my experience with my evga 9800 GTX, could get to a stable 800/2000/1200, but that was with high fan speed. also, what fan speed are you using? by pushing that up, or by adjusting voltages, you can get higher. also, not sure about this, but the oc version may have a higher stock voltage, so it may oc better than my vanilla evga one.

of course I now got a GTX 260 216 and I should see how far I can oc it :D
