Those aren't bad... Some people hit 90C. You can manually set the fan using speedfan or rivatuner to make it cooler.

My card idles at 39c and never goes too much farther than 41c when gaming Crysis or CoH. I'm running a 19" wide 1440x900 and Crysis on high and CoH maxed. The only thing I've done is download nTune (since I'm not going to oc my card....yet, if I do I'll use Riva) and locked the fan speed @ 60%. That took care of all the heat issues for me. Just make sure after you make adjustments in nTune to not created a new save profile but just overwrite the sysdflt. I heard this program was a little buggy but after overwriting the default settings it's been good ever since.

Nothing to worry about. Tested my EVGA card as soon as I bought it. The EVGA GTS 512MB has the fan set to 29% as the default and then ramps up to about 45% under load. Temps are 58c on idle and 78C-83C under load when really stressed playing something that's demanding like Crysis. However, when playing an average game, my temps max out at around 70c-73c like yours, so your temps are absolutely normal.

Personally, I have been using Rivatuner since the day after I got my card and bumped up the fan speed to 60% and now I idle at 46c and under load I hover around 60c. No noise penalty for running the fan at 60% either, at least to my ears.

Dang...you must be pushing some serious air with that case and it's fans. Either that or you got the new heatsink/fan combo. I don't have mine oc'd either and i'm getting 49 idle but i'll get just about to 70 in crysis or bioshock or whatever game i'm in. And that's with fan profiles that up my fan to 90% if the temp crosses 65 degrees. I'm waiting for a few things to come in stock and then i'll be getting either a Zalman 900 or DuOrb to replace the stock, then my temps should match yours. I hope!

I think you're confused cboath. We're talking about the GTS 512MB with the Dual-Slot cooler, not the GT.
