My reading of the HardOCP's CPU scaling article from a few months ago (go look I'm too lazy to find it for you :) ) is that the 3000+ is not going to bottleneck much if at all with a 7900GT in most games.

Yes an entirely new core2 / 8800gts system would be nice, but it doesn't sound like that's in your budget.

Also, what specific games do you want to play? 2GB helps some, not others.

Mostly WoW right now. I don't think it would be worth it for me to upgrade too much, WoW is pretty much the only thing I play now.

Look under the Video tab or google for WoW benchmarks to see if you need a 7900GT for the resolution you want to game at. A 7600GT or 7900GS might be good enough.

If you get the cheaper video card, then 2GB RAM also gets more affordable :)

Which memory would you get? I will do no overclocking at all. I always buy my stuff in person from this place: MicroBytes.

EDIT: I think I'll go with a CPU + memory upgrade first since it will benefit me more because the 6600 GT is fine for now.
