It currenly runs at 610/1620mhz gpu/mem ...I have a venice 3000 amd 64 (939) @2.6 (air)....I am getting a 3451 for a score...is this what is average? I see alot of 5000 marks on orb. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

not sure..i did a search and compare specifically for 3dmark 06....granted the top guy has a 3500 at the same speed 2.6...but one guy has the 3000 and a score of 4000+...should I assume sli? or just better memory/mobo?

Unless your having problems in games I don't see why you should be concerned over a few hundred points in a synthetic benchmark.

well that is the problem..i have certain settings that are desirable for me in Oblivion...before my overclock, for those settings, my fps was about 15..unplayable

but now with the overclock and gain of about 300pts in 3dmark, i get around 20 fps....still slightly unplayable and annoying...so, if i can just get about 300 more or so and bump up to 25 fps...that would be sweet...

im in a margin where scaling back any of the settings in the game makes it look less cool...im talking like hdr and stuff.

Man, don't listen to him. In your position, you can obviously compare that an extra 1000pts that you have seen other people get will improve your real world gaming experience. It's perfectly to do so as long as you are using other means of measuring your performance which it seems you understand.

But check to make sure these people have setups realllllly close to yours. things like a bigger cache makes a diff, and so does a clean windows installation. Then factor in what programs you had running in the background (av, keyboard settings) while running the benchmark.

That's fine and dandy but gaining a thousand extra points on an already overclocked card is beyond the gpu he already has. I don;t know what to say other than buy a more powerful card or lower your desired settings.

You have a point, but maybe he should be getting an extra 1000pts and he doesnt know why yet. If you notice a variation like that, you can double check your other variables to make sure you don't have a configuration or setting that is holding you back.
