I have a bfg 6800oc. Should I be able to have my setting in WoW and HL2 turned up.
Mostly I play WoW and if i turn the sliders all up, it gets choppy in the cutscenes, bad.
And in HL2 it gets choppy with the Ants on the beach, and in the boat(expected).
So is my card the problem, or will upgrading my cpu and ram do the trick.
I have a 2200athlon@~1986 and 512+256 hyperx. Was thinking of maxing out my cpu with a barton 3000 level cpu.
 
What resolution are you at? You should be fine at 1280 x 1024 in both those games but anything higher is going to hurt badly with your CPU. Over all a CPU upgrade will get you more out of your 6800, I'm just not sure how much because I haven't had an athlon myself.
 
Still only have 128mb of video ram, which means newer games like HL2 won't have enough from for high resolution textures, high resoltuions, and lots AA all at once.
 
yeah, I think your CPU is the biggest bottleneck there.

Get a better CPU, make sure it has 512kb of L2 cache and then OC it.
