BFG 6800OC AGP had a blank screen

I had picked up a BFG 6800OC from BestBuy last week and when I installed it my computer came right up but my LCD never came out of powersave mode. I made sure that the extra power was connected. Any ideas?

I don't know what monitor you have so I'll assume you're using a dvi connection, but make sure its set to the dvi input if you haven't yet.

I had swapped from an Nvidia FX5200 using the DVI over to the 6800OC using the DVI.

Is your monitor set to the dvi input? your screen will be blank otherwise

It worked fine with the FX5200 in DVI mode and I didn't change anything so I would assume so.

If you swap the 5200 back in, does the LCD come on?

Is this only an issue when coming back from sleep mode? i.e. If you reboot, do you get something on your screen or is it just dead?

The machine works fine with the 5200 in and the computer fully came up with the 6800 but nothing showed on the screen. I used the keyboard to shut it down.

The issue happens when starting the machine cold.

My Viewsonic LCD is set for DVI input.
