BFG 6800gt wierd polygons flashing

Ok I get theese huge polygons and bars flashing on the screen when im playing any games, the darker the game the more unnoticable. I just popped the card in 1 hr ago. Whats a good program for monitoring video card temp(im using speed fan) and I think im getting 45-55*C. Help!thanks.
 
What kind of PSU are you using? Do you have a separate power connector for the video card, or is it being shared with something else. The card is also coming overclocked by default, so you might want to try and run it at stock speeds. 55c is fine for the video card. Sounds like you may have gotten a bad card.
