BFG 6800GT OC

I have owned a BFG 6800 for a little while now and I have speculated that it may be slightly faulty.

Despite the fact that I was aware of this I overclocked it *slightly* and kept using it.
It still works, but I have been noticing troubles... Randomely some low resource games will just begin skipping for like 10 seconds (same frame and sound clip over and over) and then everything will kick back in.

Anyway... I emailed BFG and they said to call tech support to get everything cleared up and they would send me a new card or whatever.

Because I overclocked it some (I believe to 400/1100), does that void my warranty? Would they know I overclocked it?

Thanks in advance,
Tyler Lucas

I doubt it's your video card causing this. You need to give more info like what games are you playing and some of your systems specs. What happens when you go back to stock speeds?

Ok Sorry.

I just reformatted.

I ran 3DMark05 and got like 3500, which is way low.
Everything seems to run cool.

When I first put the computer together it would stall out and skip like that in all games occasionally, and also in 3dmark05.

I have everything at stock right now, what should I put my settings to to experiment with?

Absolutely absolute make sure you have the current drivers, especially for the motherboard. Old chipset drivers can result in skipping in games and a low 3DMark output.

Well I ran 3DMark and got about 5000.

In reply to the above comment, I immediately checked my chipset and onboard drivers and realized they were quite outdated. To respond, I went to the dfi website, downloaded the newest drivers and installed.

I rebooted, made sure no excess programs were running, and ran 3DMark again to get a score of 2719.

I'm absolutely shocked and bewildered... HOW is that possible? I can't think of anything to try... My GeForce settings are still the same, default.

ANY IDEAS???
