BFG 6800 Ultra owners

Because the previous owner flashed my bios to an Ultra Extreme Bios, I decided to bring it back to OEM spec by reflashing its original bios back on.

However, I do have one question.

Since BFG overclocks their cards to 425mhz, does that apply to 2d settings as well?

With coolbits enabled, I am able to view my clock speeds. At its current settings, without any adjustments are....

2d: 400/1100 (regular Ultra speeds)
3d: 425/1100 (BFG Ultra speeds)

What default clock speeds do you guys have, should it be 425/1100 in 2d as well? Or is this correct? I want to unmolest this card and bring this back to factory spec.

Thanks alot.

When I bought my BFG 6800 GT it was set at 370/1000. The optimal frequency for 3D, when using NVTweak, is 425/1100.

Was the 370/1000 the default speeds in 2D and 3D? Or was this just in 3D?

Thanks for the quick reply.

Btw, cool MAME machine.

EDIT: I'm not referring to the optimal frequency, but rather the default settings. Can you check it for me? Thanks again.

370/1000 was the default for both. I changed it to 425/1100 for 3D though. Seems stable, but UT2004 does lockup sometime.

Thanks alot! Looks like I'll have to reflash, but it'll be worth it when its back to spec. I wish the PO would have just left it alone.

Thanks again, I really do appreciate your help!

Alright, thanks for confirming. I flashed my BIOs to the original, and set the clock speeds at 425/1100 on both 2d and 3d. Now I know it is back to factory spec 🙂.

Thanks again guys, I appreciate it!

No your card is 425mhz on 3D only and 400 on 2D, unlike old cards and drivers, there is no need for your gpu to be o/c 24/7, when typing a word doc or watching a movie, only in a game.

BFG aint overclocked its a marketing con, its 425mhz core out box 3D, so are many manu's version of the ULTRA, Nvidia just said a ULTRA must be at least 400/1000, if you want to look at it that way then most are o/c models as they are nearly all 400/1100 or 425/1100, infact ive only see 1 card with 400/1000.

thia was prelaunch specs to confuse ATI, this was all over web and i was told on phone same by Nvidia UK PR Manager, who is also a liar, but i finally got a offical purevideo driver date 11/03/05 not 30/11/04, still broken PvP, where is the damn wmp dll's ? i got newer build than on windowsupdate
