BFG 6800 Ultra OC booting problem

I originally posted this in another thread, but I see my problem differs a bit from the other one, so here comes a new thread.

Paste:
There are no problems with the card not fitting or damaged components. CPU/RAM is not clocked and I've tried to increase/decrease AGP voltage. When I press the power button, there is a constant high pitch beep which doesn't stop until power is shut off. The monitor acts like it receives no signal and remain black. It couldn't possibly be the PSU, since I have a 520W Aspire PSU with 37 Amps max on +12V.

Suggestions?

Edit: As you can see in my signature, I usually run the CPU overclocked to 2.4GHz, but clocked it down for the occasion.. (after having found out it didn't work the first time)

Reseat? You mean like putting it back in? I've done that at least 4 times in the process, while I tried all the other things (Change FSB clock, AGP voltage etc)..

I'll definitely try som more though. Gotta get it working!

Did you make sure the locking mechanism is in the locked position? I remember on my old ATI card I didn't do that and I didn't get any video signal. I also had to reseat the card a couple times when I first installed the ATI card before I got it to work.

Good luck.

Yes, I did several times =/ Trying to flash my BIOS now for hopes of better luck afterwards.

Btw: The card is so immensely huge that the cooling fan/block blocks the AGP-port's little white "switch" at the end 😀 I have to use my little-finger to press it open, and man...that's heavy. Gotta start pumping some iron with my little-finger if I'm gonna continue taking it out and back in all the time.

Edit: Take a look here: http://www.epox.nl/english/support/bios/socket.php?id=7
Try pressing "Release Notes". None of them work here.. I only get "Changelog not available". I would like seeing something like "Support for 6800-series cards added"

Aloha Steffenm. I would test the card on another system. If it doesn't work, RMA that bad boy🙁. I had a problem with another card and just RMA'd it. Got it back within ten days. Good luck.

I've tried it on another system now... Sitting at a friends house. Works perfectly. Runs Doom 3 Max res, max AA/AF, max details (high) smoothly.

I managed to corrupt my BIOS while flashing and have to order a new one from the Netherlands (EPoX).. boring situation. But at least I know the card is OK!
