BFG 6800 Overheating

I recently bought a BFG 6800GT OC.

I'm idling at 85+ and Loading 90+.

It defaults at 370/1000 and I overclocked it to 380/1200 (I could go higher, don't want to).
What can I do to cool it down? I have like 4 fans in my computer not counting my heastync... What should I do, should I be worried?

I had a 6800GT that would hit in the 90s C when under load. This seemed to be normal as the nTune software defaulted to something like 120C before it would issue a warning. Seemed kind of high but whatever. When not under load the temp would drop really fast to the 50sC. Also my X850 runs in the mid 90s when under load.

so, your load temp doesn't seem too high, but the idle temp is way high.

that some hot stuff you got there man. Do you have the dual fan heatsink set up becase that design isn't suited to cool a GT card.

To answer all of your questions:
Today I'm idling at 90c. I think this is realistically what to expect at the moment.
I have a heatsink made by thermaltake, it's designed for Athlon64, above decent quality to say the least.
It runs completely stable I've had pretty much zero problems thus far except for like one freeze.

I'm using the case I bought with stock fans, it is an X Blade case (black if you were wondering). So all of the cooling is stock other than my heatsink.
Here's a link to the case: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/a-c/xbladmidcas4.html

It has a front, side, and back 8cm fans. I just read online that I have the option to change one or two of them to 12cm.

With what you guys now know, what can you recommend?

PS: I have a PCI fairly close beneath the Video Card. Would lowering it more help by giving more room for ventilation, or maybe just to protect the PCI card?

You have very good case cooling, so I would suspect your 6800 core is not making good contact with it's heatsink. What is your PCB temp registering as?

one thing i noticed when i got my bfg 6800gt was the heatsink wasn't tightly screwed in. you might consider tightening the screws to give better contact. those temps are definitely high. I run mine clocked to 425/1100 and it idles at 50c and tops out at 80c when running rthdribl.

Whats your ambient case temp?? I idle at 50C, 69C at load with the Leadtek.

Heard some bad things about the dual fan design on the BFG.

You should have an ambient temperature readout right next to the core readout. I have 65 ambient, 81 idle at work.
